Application
Maintenance Station focuses on "Plant Asset Management" and enables preventive and
predictive diagnostics and maintenance of the plant.
In parallel with process control, the maintenance station makes available consistent
maintenance information and functions for the system components (assets).
While the plant operator receives all process-relevant information and can intervene
selectively in the process via the operator system (OS), the maintenance engineer inspects
the automation system hardware and processes the associated diagnostic messages and
maintenance demands via the maintenance station.
The basis for a maintenance station is always an OS that provides this maintenance
functionality.
It is determined in the plant hierarchy of the SIMATIC Manager which OS has the
maintenance functionality and in which version the maintenance station is operated.
You can find basic information on engineering, configuration and process control in the
following documentation:

4.12.4
Overview
After the AssetM block has been placed in the CFC, interconnect the parameters that are to
be used.
In the process device plant view, a PDM object has to be created for each AssetM block so
that information on the components to be monitored can be displayed in the faceplate from
PDM in the process control. This PDM object saves the rating plate (identification data) and
the diagnostics texts. The PDM object is assigned to the "AssetM" device.
A PLT ID is then generated for this PDM object. This PLT ID has to be entered on the
AssetM block in the CFC.
The PLT ID is a connection parameter between a PDM object (parameter data EDD) and the
faceplates in the maintenance station. The PLT-ID is linked to the PDM object.

Introduction
The diagnostic screens in the diagnostics area with their block icons are created or updated
with this function.
The "@@maintenancetypicals.pdl" file contains all the templates for block icons which are
used to display the diagnostic information.
If you execute the "Create/update diagnostic screens", PCS 7 automatically uses block icons
from this file. This file is installed as standard during the installation of PCS 7.
You can customize block icons to your specific requirements.
Note
If you want to customize the standard block icons included in the
@@maintenancetypicals.pdl file, do not change this file. All changes in this file are
overwritten by an update.
Always create a new file. The name of the file starts with the fixed name component
"@maintenancetypicals". You can specify the rest of the file name yourself. Insert the
required block icons there and customize them.
The process is exactly the same as the procedure for adapting standard block icons.
You can find more information about this in the section "Example: Creating object templates"
in the WinCC Information System online help.
When you create/update a screen, all PCS 7 block icons are arranged automatically, starting
in the top left corner.
Screens in which a rack structure (for example, ET 200 central rack) is displayed are
exceptions to this. In this case, the block icons for objects are arranged in the order of their
slots.
After you update/create the diagnostic screen to meet your requirements, you move the
block icons.
Block icons that have been moved remain in their position after the screen is updated.
New block icons are added in the top left corner of the screen. Note that adding new block
icons may cause icons to overlap.
Block icons to be deleted are removed from the screen. Their position in the screen remains
unoccupied.

Introduction
The passivation symbol is displayed in the faceplate in order to ensure that the discrepancy
of a redundant module or its failed channels can be detected by the maintenance engineer.
As long as the discrepancy time is active, maintenance required and a message are
displayed in the message system in the faceplate of the module.
If, moreover, a long-term discrepancy is detected, the module/channel is passivated. This
results in a loss of redundancy. The module or the channel is indicated as "Faulty" in the
block icon. The maintenance demanded, the symbol for depassivation and a message are
displayed in the message system in the faceplate.
If the cause of the discrepancy has been remedied, the depassivation can be carried out with
the icon in the faceplate.

Introduction
A global script is used to transfer data from a component to ACC. You create the global
script in WinCC Explorer in the "Global Script" editor.
An example script is used to create the global script. The sample script is supplied on the
DVD Process Control System; SIMATIC PCS 7 V8.0 or higher in the directory
"Additional_Products/ACC_integration/Scripts".
The sample script is available in the section "Example of script for data export to the ACC
(Page 176)".
Note
The example script is suitable for a connection in the following configurations:
When using an MS single station system, the ACC core system is installed on the MS.
If you are using an MS multiple station system, the ACC core system is installed on the
MS server and the MS server is not in redundant design.
For additional information about the connection to ACC, refer to the documentation of Alarm
Control Center.
Before using the example script, check the file names and path specifications configured in it
against the real directory structure of the PC that is used. Change them if necessary.
Configure the maintenance target in the extended diagnostic settings.
Copy the name and the path from the sample script.
You can find additional information on this topic in the section "Creating maintenance targets
(Page 60)".
The sample script has the instruction that the path is created automatically the first time the
script is started.
Requirements
The configuration of the maintenance targets and the maintenance actions is complete.
The trigger tag "@ASSET_EXPORT_FINISHED" is configured.

How to configure the license number of the ACC for the export function
Introduction
The license number of the Alarm Control Center (ACC) is required as a parameter in the
export file for an individual export. The license number must therefore be retrieved from the
Alarm Control Center and configured in the maintenance station in the file "logininfo.xml".
As an example, the "logininfo.xml " file is supplied on the DVD Process Control System;
SIMATIC PCS 7 V8.0 or higher in the directory "Additional_Products / ACC_integration /
LoginInfo".
Requirement
The license number of the Alarm Control Center is known.
You can find the license number in the "System Overview" of the Alarm Control Center
under "Coupling Agents" and the entry "OpenInterface".
Procedure
1. In Windows Explorer, navigate to the DVD Process Control System; SIMATIC PCS 7
V8.0 or higher, to the directory "Additional_Products / ACC_integration / LoginInfo".
2. From the DVD, copy the subdirectory "ACC" as a subdirectory to the local WinCC project
directory of the maintenance station under "<wincc_project_name>".
By default the WinCC project lies in the directory of the corresponding S7 project in the
subdirectory "wincproj / <wincc_project_name>".
The path "<wincc_project_name> / ACC" is used for the XML file in the example script.
3. Open the "logininfo.xml" file with an XML editor such as Windows Notepad.
4. Enter the license number of the Alarm Control Center in the "<License>" parameter. The
format in the example file is specified by default.
5. Select the menu command File > Save.
6. Select the menu command File > Exit.
Result
The license number of the Alarm Control Center is now configured for individual export.

Configuration in ACC
Rules
The following rules have to be observed for configuration in the Alarm Control Center:
The coupling agent "OpenInterface" with "ACC Open Interface Runtime license (CAL)" is
required.
The send channel "ACC LAN Message" is preferred. The router must already be set up.
The "Administrator" user must be set up for the channel "ACC LAN Message". Set
"localhost" as the phone number.
