Mr.

Odoms Classroom Rules and Procedures

1. Stand out and be a HERO
Help: Whether it be a teacher or a fellow classmate, offer assistance when needed. When
you help someone in need, you create a positive classroom and school wide community.
Encourage: Always encourage your peers to do the right thing. Encourage others through
positive actions and verbal tone. Encourage others to succeed and make the most of their
learning experience.
Respect: Whether it is the instructor or a peer, a little respect goes a long way. Earn
respect by demonstrating good character.
Others: Simply put, treat others how you want to be treated. Positive interactions lead to
a safe and stress free learning environment. These interactions will ultimately lead to
personal success in the classroom.

2. Classroom Procedures
A. Daily Routine: getting into a daily routine is important for success in history
class. When you arrive to class, take out all necessary materials (history folder,
paper, planner and writing utensil of your choice). Copy the CW (class work)
and HW (homework) in your planner.
B. Recognition: History is a class that gives you the power to ask questions, share an
experience and provide feedback.thats right; you get to talk in history class!
Talking is arguably the best learning tool and form of communication. If you
want to speak aloud or need to leave your seat, no problem, please raise your
hand to be recognized.
C. Leaving class: The ringing bell does not give permission to stampede out the
door. We are not a herd of cattle, bison, etc. To maintain safety, the teacher will
dismiss you. Be sure to take all belongings with you. If you have a bathroom
emergency and need to leave class, YOU must fill out information on the
classroom sign-out sheet.

D. Absence: You have three days to complete missed assignments. It is the students
responsibility to check the teachers website for missed assignments.

E. Tests: Tests announced prior to an absence can be made up on your first day back
to school or at the teachers discretion.
F. Food and drink: are not permitted in class. Exception: When provided by the
teacher or school administration. Feel free to bring/ drink water in a bottle.
G. Visitor at the door: Keep the classroom safe! Do not open the door unless the
teacher gives you permission to do so. Do not run to the door if someone knocks!
