5. Requirements
- The keys shall be manufactured
from bars and finished smooth all over.
All
sharp corners
shall be removed. The key shall
be free from burrs, cracks, seams or other
manufacturing
defects.
5.1 The handles of the keys

6. Torque Test - For the purpose of the torque test, a rigidly held steel block having a square
hole of the same size of square as the key, with a tolerance of D12 shall be used. The depth of the
hole in the block shall be about 2 mm less than dimension I4 ( see 2 ). The square end of the key
shall be inserted into the hole to the maximum extent possible and the appropriate
torque as given
in 2 shall be applied at the handles. The application
of the torque shall be gradual and without jerks.
At the completion
of the test, the key shall not show any sign of damage or deformation.
