3B: Todos podemos colaborar (Gramtica)
)a Gramtica
)i Possessive adjectives and pronouns
The possessive forms mi, tu, su, nuestro, vuestro are adjectives and must agree with their
subject, e.g.;
Por qu no os compris esa bici plegable que podris guardar en vuestra mochila?
Why dont you buy yourselves that folding bike which you will be able to put in your rucksack?
You may also need to use the possessive pronouns such as el mo (mine), e.g.:
Carmen tiene un horno solar, pero cocina ms lentamente que el mo.
Carmen has a solar-powered oven, but it cooks more slowly than mine.
Possessive adjectives are my, your, his, her, its, our, their. In Spanish, like all adjectives, they
must agree with the noun they describe. They may therefore have two or four different forms
according to the number and gender of the thing they are describing.

You will notice that Spanish has four different ways of saying you, so there are several
alternatives for the English word your. Notice also that su and sus in Spanish can mean his,
her, its, your or their.
NB T has an accent when it means you, but not when it means your.

to stand in for a noun that is not there.
e.g. Ese no es tu libro, es mo.
That is not your book, its mine.
In the above sentence, your is a possessive adjective, mine is a possessive pronoun.
