Introduction

Adobe Flash is a platform for creating digital media content which include graphics,
animation, audio, video and interactive media. Flash is most commonly used to display
animated and/or interactive content on web pages but it can be used for other applications as
well. In recent years, Flash has also become a leader in online video delivery.

For this assignment, we were given the privilege to create an educational video with the title
of Global Warming Awareness. This video is highly targeted for childrens view and also to
increase the importance of Global Warmings effects. Besides, we, Chew Xi Jiang, Kirbanath
Shumugadass, Vityasini Subbarao and Yeschindha Gunasegeran had put in much effort to
complete this video assessment with each respective part.

In the other hand, we knew that the title Global Warming Awareness was not a suitable title
for children but when we look back at what is happening in the era of 16, we realize that this
awareness should be implied in children in order for them to live in a better place. Thus, we
hope this videos massage could make changes now than its too late.

Problem Statement
During our engage with this project, there were various problems came by along the way in
producing this educational video but for everything, theres surely a solution too it. So firstly,
the problem arise was when we were given only limited time for a topic to be chosen. We, as
a group of 4, surely came up with various idea to make this educational video a worthwatching video, but finally we came to an agreement in choosing global warming as our
highlight for our project. After the topic had been agreed, the problem came by when we are
in need in choosing a suitable sound, the animation for the Flash, the background, colours and
so on.

Next, it was hard getting all the group members together because we are all from different
semesters and to have a discussion it was quite tough. This problem was solved thanks to the
ease of social networks and we also tried to divide and distribute our duties evenly in
succeeding this flash in the lab sessions that we had by selecting a responsible group leader in
managing all the minor problems. We also face the problem on creating the Flash Animation
Video due to our limited sources and our lack of knowledge on this field but as usual with the
help of the Internet it surely does us good in producing a better work and resulting in a
productive self- learning within us four.

We chose a group leader to manage things and also to distribute our workload. All of us in the
team had our say in the choosing of the colour, background and also the animation which was
fair. Lastly, we had to find and learn from the Internet to produce a better work and resulting
in a productive self-learning.

Objectives
Know what is global warming.
Gain the knowledge on the effect, factors and how overcome it.
To create and spread awareness in global warming.

Targeted Users
The aim for creating this video is to educate children about the importance of Global
Warming Awareness by knowing the effects, factors and also how to overcome it. This video
is meant to make changes to the world by starting with children in order for them to have a
better home. Teachers can also use this video as an educational material for students to learn
more about the importance of Global Warming Awareness.

Scope of Applications
This video can be used as a teaching material for children and also teachers who wish educate
students about Global Warming Awareness. Reaching out directly at adults may be difficult as
such messages tend to be overheard by them. Children however are attracted to the colourful
animations and texts so this video has higher chances of getting their attention. By educating
children at an early age on the importance to protect the nature, children can grow to respect
and value nature so in future they can help to preserve and protect mother-nature.

Development Methodology
At the beginning, all members individually find, research and list down potential choices that
are possible for us to work with. A discussion is made a few days after that, in which we
eliminated more choices through voting and categorizing the list. At first we discussed on
making about more explanation with subtitles for the duration of the three minute video, but
as only 3 members who are working on the project, time limitation had occurred. A few of us
suggested splitting into three categories with the factors, effects and solution to overcome the
problem but at last we decided to just put all the message as whole.

Once we came up with a suitable plan, we split our tasks among each other in order to
complete this task. After completing each of us task, we combined together into a single file
to be submitted as a complete storyboard. After that our team began to create the animations
for the educational video with two members working on a category respectively.

Analysis
Adobe Flash is a software used to create animations; many images joined together in many
frames to create a motion picture. The use of animations effect greatly to people as its
colourful graphics tend to attract more than just a page full of plain texts. It is easy to use as
well as user-friendly for all users. We chose to use Adobe Flash for its simple shortcuts and
easy to understand layouts.

The importance of making this video is to spread the awareness on the importance and the
effects of global warming. This video mainly shows about the act of global warming before
and after actions taken. The world is wondrous with its lacking of trees which not only kills
human but also other habitants such as plants and animals.

If this video can help others to develop a sense of empathy for the nature and also mother
earth. This video has a message where one can realize the before and after effects of global
warming. Besides, it also shows that one should love the nature and protect the trees for their
future.

Design

Firstly, we show the world map to let people know that our world is filled with 25% of land
and 75% of water in the form of seas and oceans.

However, the Deforestation implemented by human has massively decrease the amount of
trees in the world.

Factories exhaust a lot of smoke that caused air pollution.

Due to large amount of trees has been cut off, the world temperature has been increased
because of not enough trees to refresh the air.

The surface area of the land will be continuously decrease if global warming still exist.

Conclusion and Recommendations

Potential Contribution of Animation

This educational video need to be spread in order to create awareness among children and
also adults. Therefore, this video could be uploaded on famous website platforms such as
YouTube or Facebook and any other social media in order to spread the awareness widely.

Limitations
In the journey to complete the assignment, there are problems were faced. The main issue
was when making animations to move smoothly. More frames are required for smoother
animations and with a limited timeframe to do so, we had difficulty in dividing the time to
achieve our goals.

Conclusion
Lastly, we believe that our educational video has clearly describe how useful and important to
save the trees in order to avoid global warming. Nevertheless, we hope this global warming
awareness could be spread and imply into every individual in order to save the mother earth.

Roles and Responsibilities

Chew Xi Jiang
I had done my best to complete some editing at the last part of the video and also had
contributed on report writing.

Kribanath Shunmugadass
My responsibilities consist of sketching picture of the trees and factory which implies that the
trees were to cut in order to build factories. I had also assisted other of my members in order
to complete their part.

Vityasini Subbarao
As to complete the video, I was responsible to complete the introduction part. I sketched the
earth picture and also inserted some messages and also created animation at the beginning
part of the video. I have also contributed in storyboarding. Additionally, I have seeked help
from Yeschindha in planning the storyboard.

Yeschindha Gunasegeran
I had done my part by using Adobe Flash CS6 as my support tool. I was given the task to
complete the sketching of the lorry carrying the tree trunks after cutting it and also the
animations after effect of the cutting trees. Besides, I have also contributed in handling the
report with Chew Xi Jiang. Thus, I was assisted much by Kribanath when I had difficulties in
performing animating skills.
