PERFILLER Application

4.1 Cut PERFILLER to size and apply it to all areas of exposed steel.
4.2 Heat the mastic and smooth it down with a paint scraper to cover all bare metal without
air entrapments. Avoid traces of PERFILLER on top of the PE coating.

PERP Application

5.1 Flame brush adhesive side of the PERP patch until the adhesive becomes glossy
5.2 Position the pre-cut PERP patch over the damaged area and heat until the
malts. Roll out any entrapped air with a silicone roller.

5.3 Check that adhesive with a gloved finger.

5.4 Smooth the repair patch with a gloved hand to eliminate air entrapments and
ensure good bonding. Avoid squeezing filler between PERP and the line coating.
Completed installation.
Patch is correctly installed when all of the following have occurred:
1. There are no upstanding edges
2. After patch is cool, adhesive flow is evident on the edges.
3. The patch has fully conformed to the coating.

APPENDIX A

PERP-MELTSTICK

Heat Shrinkable Products

Coating Repair Stick

Repair system for damaged mill-applied PE coating.

Product description
PERP MELTSTICK coating repair.
Construction: PE copolymer based adhesive.
PERP MELTSTICK is a heat-sensitive, PE copolymer-based stick used for small super-ficial,
damage (scratches) to PE-coatings where the damage does not extend to the bare metal.

Installation is done with a standard gas torch. After eliminating all sharp edges, cleaning and preheating, PERP-MELT-STICK is heated above the damaged
area until becoming glossy. No filler is required. The molten adhesive is spread onto the scratches, forming a tight bond with the substrate. After cool down,
the hardening adhesive is smoothed flush with the PE line coating using a paint scraper.
