THE SENIOR GAMES TURN 30 YEARS OLD
The long standing tradition continues to inspire people to stay active.
CHARLEROI, Pa (May 11, 2016)The Southwestern PA Area Agency on Aging will
host the 30th annual Senior Games on Wednesday, June 15 at Laurel Highland Senior
High School.

Why:

The Southwestern PA Area Agency on Aging, Inc., sponsors the annual

Senior Games and related activities for older adults to encourage health
and wellness. Celebrate the past. Awaken the Future is the slogan for
this years senior games. It is encouraged that people, age 50 and older,
come to participate in an array of events ranging from shuffleboard,
bocce, the 50-yard dash and much more.

Opening Ceremony (begins at 9:30 a.m.)
Must be 50 years of age or older
Must be a resident or be a member of a senior center in at least
one of three counties:
o Greene County, Fayette County, Washington County
Rules request for cell phones to be turned off
Shuffleboard participants must pre-register by June 3
Pre-registration for other events is requested by June 8, however
registration for most events will be accepted the day of the
games
Morning warm up exercises will be provided on the field
If there are fewer than three people competing in an event, it
may be closed, at the discretion of the AAA staff
