New York Governor Eliot Spitzer proposal is to grant driver's license to undocumented
immigrants to ensure the safety of the roads, provide security, and track residents giving them an
identification instead of letting them be nameless per say. In 2007 Eliot Spitzer license
proposal was scuttled which means to the bottom of the pile of many other proposal made by
governor of different states. According to Charles B. Rangel says, The Idea was right, the
timing was wrong Because what Rangel is trying to convey to us is that the people of New York
still have raw- memory of what happened during Sept. 11, and giving undocumented
immigrants will probably make the New Yorkers feel unsafe to live in New York. There are
apparently 12 million undocumented immigrant in the United States, many work everyday jobs
like cleaning offices, farmers picking produces, or even care for your children and offering them
a license to give them recognition. Millions of immigrant will be remain anonymous, but it will
be much more difficult to ignore their existence because it is ever growing.
