In early concepts, history is basically a narration about the events that have

occurred. Later on, it come into French formation of histoire, the Latin
concept of historia and Greek notion of istoria, each word construction
means knowledge of the past. But most of the studies said that history
derives from Ancient Greek which means inquest or inquiryknowledge obtained through investigation and exploration.
History is all that happened in the past and what human has written about
the past. History refers to a chain of events, in which is covered an inbuilt
relation of interconnection. It is the order of events in accordance with
chronology.
On the other hand, history is not only fixed about the events in the past- it
also define the present by the interpretation the past. Johan Huizinga defined
history as the interpretation of the significance that the past has for us.
History has to be interpreted and analyzed to be able to know the
significance of the recorded events or it will be meaningless. It narrates the
past from the collected written sources such as documents, diaries and etc.
The meaning of history also, explains its relation to the changes that occur in
the present time.
