Course Description: Math I continues students study of algebra and geometry, building upon middle school and Algebra
I topics. Problem solving, measurement, special relationships in right triangles, transformations, and geometric
applications of algebra are the topics to be studied in an application-centered environment. continues students study of

Expectations:
- All students are expected to be in class on a daily basis and follow all district-wide, school, and classroom
policies and procedures.
- All students are expected to be respectful to all faculty, staff, and peers.
- All students are expected to perform and participate at 100% of their ability all day, everyday, in order to better
prepare them for future courses and life beyond high school.
- Absolutely no profane language and/or vulgar behavior is allowed in the classroom.
- Absolutely no horseplay or throwing of objects will be tolerated in the classroom.
- All students are expected to remove all headgear upon entering the building, but especially upon entrance of the
classroom .
- All students will silence any/all electronic devices and will keep them put away during class time, unless being
used for academic purposes and permission has been given by the teacher.
- Absolutely No Cheating Allowed All students are expected to display his or her own thoughts on all
assignments and assessments.
Cheating
I define cheating as the act of obtaining or attempting to obtain credit for academic work by any dishonest, deceptive, or
fraudulent means. Cheating includes:
- Copying, in part or in whole, from anothers test or other evaluation instrument including homework assignments,
worksheets, tasks, essays, projects, quizzes, etc.;
- Using or consulting sources, tools or materials prohibited by the instructor prior to, or during an examination;
- Altering or interfering with the grading process;
- Any other act committed by a student in the course of their academic work that defrauds or misrepresents,
including aiding others in any of the actions defined above.
Attendance
- Students should be present everyday and on time.
- When a student is absent, he or she has five days to make up any assignment missed on that day.
- When a student is tardy, he or she is required to sign in to the Tardy Log on the computer.

A student is tardy when he or she is not totally physically inside the classroom when the tardy bell rings.
Classroom Procedures
- Please read the board daily for instructions and daily content (warm-up, homework, classwork, and etc). Begin
immediately upon entrance to the class.
- Please sharpen pencils, prepare materials (paper and notebooks), and get calculator immediately following the
bell. No class time should be wasted.
- Please keep workspace clean and orderly at all times
- Please do not sleep in class nor distract others from learning.
- Absolutely no food or drinks allowed in the classroom.
Late Work

- Students are allowed to turn in work up to five school days after the original due date.
- All assignments not turned in after the five days will be put into PowerSchool as a permanent zero.
- The first day the assignment is late the highest grade possible is an 85, and every day after the first day will be
ten points lower.
Retakes
- Retakes can be taken for any assessment that has a score of 80 or lower.
- The highest score for any retake will be an 84%.

4th Offense Given to administrator with referral

- Pens (used to grade work)
