Private Tutoring Contract

FEES:
The starting fee will be based on the materials needed for the student. The student/parents can choose to
either receive a list of needed materials and acquire them themselves, or they can pay the teacher to
acquire the materials for them.
The weekly fee for the tutoring sessions is based upon the distance traveled to the location the student will
be taught at, and the amount of time for each lesson. Payment may be split into weekly, bi-weekly, or
monthly payments, and may be paid by check or by cash, but the teacher must be notified as to how the
student/parent wishes to pay at the start of lessons.
MATERIALS:
Students/parents will be informed by/during the second session as to what materials are needed based on
the particular students age and current level of ability. They can choose to either pay an initial fee for the
teacher to collect the items for the student, or they can choose to receive a list of materials needed, but
they MUST have the requested items by the third session.
OUTSIDE INTERACTION:
Outside student/teacher interaction is allowed. This includes interactions at other locations besides the
designated teaching location, and outside of teaching hours. If the parent wishes for the student to be
watched by the teacher either before or after the lesson, an additional fee will be charged and will be
based on how long the student will be watched, and whether or not there will be driving involved. As for
other interactions such as one-on-one time with the teacher, please just keep in mind that the teacher does
have several other students, and will not be able to focus all attention on just one.
ATTENDANCE:
The teacher MUST be notified at least 8 hours ahead of the tutoring session if there is to be a cancellation,
unless there is an emergency. Otherwise, if the teacher is not notified ahead of time, the student/parent
must pay the usual amount and the lesson will NOT be rescheduled for that week.
If the teacher has to cancel, the student/parent will be notified ASAP, and the lesson can either be
rescheduled, or the student/parent does not have to pay for that week. Also, the teacher will notify the
student/parent as to any holidays which lessons will not be given such as Thanksgiving and Christmas.
If the student is at least 10 minutes late to the lesson, the lesson will be shortened unless the student/parent
notified the teacher at least 8 hours in advance, or unless the student/parent is willing to pay a $5 late fee
in order to extend the lesson.
If the teacher has to be late to a lesson, the student/parent will be notified ASAP and the lesson will either
be extended or rescheduled based on the convenience of the student/parent and/or the teacher.
If a student/parent consistently cancels their lessons four times in a row, that student may be dropped at
the discretion of the teacher, and all fees, such as late cancellation fees, must be paid.

By signing this, you have agreed to the above terms and are ready for you or your child to begin learning
critical thinking, improved study skills, and the joy of learning.
