Introduction
As one of the features of the modern world in ironing technology, steam is
known for its own gentleness, safeness and efficiency to remove wrinkles of
garments. Garment steaming is not only five times faster than ironing but also
assured not to scorch even the feeblest materials and fabrics.
The proponents developed an innovation
for the steam cabinet ironing. This was
accomplished by developing a system
which automatically controls the
ambient temperature inside the cabinet
in order to attain the suitable steam
temperature for the specific type of
fabric.
Steam cabinet ironing uses the concept of
proper distribution and rationing of steam
thermal energy in de-wrinkling and finishing
garments. The study dealt with the designing
and implementing a fuzzy inference system for
garments steaming process of the system.
STEAMCABIN: A Fuzzy Logic Controlled
Saturated Steam Cabinet is a microcontrollerbased implementation of fuzzy logic control
using actuator and sensor technology used in
temperature control system. Structural
formulation and simulation of fuzzy inference
system is done through the of fuzzy logic
toolbox on Matlab IDE.

USER GUIDE
Procedures for Steaming Garments
1. Check all parts of the steam cabinet before using.
2. Make sure that the water containers in the compartment
are full enough to use in steaming. Input the garments in
the steam cabinet that you wish to de-wrinkle. (minimum
of 4, maximum of 8 garments only)
3. To start steaming, turn on the breaker and the switch in
the control panel.
4. In the control panel, select the start button.
5. Select the type of garments to be de-wrinkled, click the
next button.
6. Select the quantity of garments to be de-wrinkled, click
the next button.

Note: Amount of water every steaming cycle may vary according

to the temperature and quantity of the garments to be steamed.
7. Click again the next button to proceed. Pre-heating will
start as the next button is clicked. Pre-heating will take 15
minutes.
8. After the pre-heating stage, the actual steaming of the
garments inside the cabinet will automatically start. The
temperature inside the cabinet and the rpm of the dc
motor will be displayed in the LCD at the control panel.
The working time and temperature in the cabinet will
depend on the quantity and the type of garments to be dewrinkled.
9. After steaming, 8 minutes of cooling of the inside cabinet
comes next. The actuator (fan) will automatically turn on
to lessen the heat inside the cabinet.
10. Unplug the steam cabinet after using.
