Curriculum Offered

Each student will be able to choose as many as 16 hours of classwork to enroll in


during their time at camp. The following options are available during specific times:

Finding and Applying for Scholarships- 2 hour course- Dr. Dennis Grover
How do families address the rising cost of a college education? by taking advantage
of available scholarships! In this class, we will look at strategies that will help you
research available scholarships, tips for completing the application, and guidelines for
writing an effective personal essay to help improve your chances of receiving financial
assistance and minimize college loan debt.
Safety on Campus- Situational Awareness and Cybercrimes- Instructor: Deputy Jon
Copeland- 2 hour course
Learn how to be more aware of your surroundings and how to help prevent finding
yourself a victim on your college campus. Deputy Jon Copeland is a seasoned veteran
of the Washington County Sherriffs office, and has a passion for teaching young
students life-skills that will benefit their future.
Writing a Winning Scholarship Essay- 2 hour course- Instructor Keri Bostwick
Ever wondered why some people seem to get all the scholarships, and others dont?
Sometimes its grades, sometimes its a better fit, but sometimes its because they
know how to write in such a way that they spotlight all of their accomplishments in a
well put together essay that wows the judges. This course will guide you through the
essentials of writing that winning essay to attain that coveted scholarship!

ACT Prep- Math- 2 hour course Instructor Jason Godfrey
Get prepared for the ACT test by brushing up on your math, English, reading, and
science skills. We are conveniently offering these preparatory classes before the ACT
dates this fall.

gain the tools you need to understand banking services, money management, and the
dos and donts of credit and basic budgeting

science skills. We are conveniently offering these preparatory classes before the ACT

Navigating the College Schedule- 2 hour course
Campus terminology can be overwhelming for college freshman, and scheduling can
make or break your college career. In this course, you will learn common college
terminology and basic scheduling skills to make sure that you understand the structure
and complexity of the successful college schedule.

Wednesday PM classes
Self Defense Training for Women and Girls- 3 hour course LIMITED SPACE
AVAILABLE
In recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, SAFE NOW is offering a selfdefense training for women and girls ages 15 and older. Learn basic self-defense
techniques from an experienced 6th degree black belt instructor. No prior training
necessary. The class will be held at Guise Premier Martial Arts located at 1023 NE
Washington Blvd / Bartlesville. Students will be bussed back to Tri County Tech for
afternoon classes. Space is limited, so please register early.
