What does it mean to be "holy," "sanctified," and "set apart?

"
HOLINESS: The "personality" of GOD WHO IS Holy: When you are Holy you desire in your heart to be
Holy--that your part--the HOLY SPIRIT does the rest: HE will daily teach you HIS Ways: holiness--through
the Bible and prayer and pursuing GOD everyday: Hebrews 12:14 (KJV): Follow peace with all men, and
holiness, without which no man shall see the LORD: Holiness is the pursuit of a life that desires to no
longer sin against GOD by rebellion of disregarding GOD's Commandments and Statutes.
TO BE SET APART: That is what GOD does with the children who pursue HIM with all their heart, mind,
strength, soul: to teach them to operate in HIS Will and to follow HIS statutes and HE leads you to all
Truth. The LORD wants us to be set apart from the world for HIM: Psalm 4:3 (KJV): 3 But know that the
LORD hath set apart him that is godly for HIMSELF: the LORD will hear when I call unto HIM.
WASHING OF THE WORD: You are cleaned up daily when you truly want to read the Bible and trust in it
as the perfect Word of GOD and to follow its guidance by the Power of the HOLY SPIRIT WHO leads you
as your learn how you are outside of or against GOD's Will and as you learn--you are cleaned up by
understanding GOD's Truth--learning what GOD wants from us by reading HIS Word literally cleans up
our lives before a HOLY GOD: Ephesians 5:26 (KJV): That HE might sanctify and cleanse it with the
washing of water by the word,
RENEWING OF THE MIND: This is an ongoing process once you turn your life over to CHRIST and HE
begins to show you your sin against HIM and what you can do to pursue CHRIST and to turn from you
desires to sin and willfully do things that GOD hates: like "Thou shalt not steal." When you surrender
your life over to the Will of the FATHER: the HOLY SPIRIT begins to lead you day-by-day to walk in the Will
of GOD: the PERFECT PLAN FOR THE LIFE GOD CREATED: Romans 12:2 (KJV): And be not conformed to
this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good,
and acceptable, and perfect, will of GOD.
SANCTIFICATION: This is the process of the HOLY SPIRIT WHO works with you everyday to move you into
holiness: the ways of GOD AFTER YOU HAVE SURRENDERED YOUR ALL TO CHRIST AS LORD and MASTER
AND PRAYED TO BE IN THE WILL OF THE FATHER AND TO BE FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT--after you
surrender your will over to GOD's Perfect Will--then the HOLY SPIRIT begins to sanctify (to separate you
from the thinking of the world that is operating in the will of the enemy) you through the Bible and
prayer and other in many other ways. John 17:16-19 (KJV): 16 They are not of the world, even as I am not
of the world. 17 Sanctify them through THY truth: THY word is truth. 18 As THOU hast sent ME into the
world, even so have I also sent them into the world. 19 And for their sakes I sanctify MYSELF, that they
also might be sanctified through the truth.
WILL OF GOD: This is GOD the FATHER's plans--HIS Way of doing things. Even CHRIST when HE was on
the earth said it was not about HIS Will but the Will of the FATHER. When people are born they are born
into sin and into a fallen world. They can go their entire life in their own will and die in their own will
unsaved apart from the Salvation of CHRIST or they can choose for the Will of GOD the FATHER and

accept the Salvation of CHRIST WHO paid the penalty for fallen mankind on the cross. Romans 12:2
(KJV): And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye
may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of GOD. Matthew 26:39 (KJV): And HE
went a little farther, and fell on HIS Face, and prayed, saying, O MY FATHER, if it be possible, let this cup
pass from ME: nevertheless not as I will, but as THOU wilt.
BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT: This is a separate baptism from John the Baptist's water baptism--it is the
Baptism of Fire from Heaven. It is when the HOLY SPIRIT is sent by CHRIST to the person by giving their
permission to give their life over completely to the LORD. The HOLY SPIRIT is a GENTLEMAN and will not
force HIS Way into someone's life. HE draws--pleads--and reasons, but never forces. So the person has
freewill to choose and sadly the majority never make this choice for GOD. When the person asks to be
filled with the HOLY SPIRIT, he must decide to lay down his ENTIRE life and to be ready, to be under the
Leadership of GOD: FATHER, SON, and HOLY SPIRIT. If the person still chooses to be in charge--even
partially--the person doesn't even have GOD partially because GOD will not accept a partial commitment
and the person is considered lukewarm and lost until he decides to give everything to CHRIST. After the
HOLY SPIRIT fills the person fully--they are then under the full leadership of GOD and they are not their
own and they belong to GOD for HIM to do with their lives as HE sees fit. The HOLY SPIRIT will manifest
to the person who is baptized by submission to the HOLY SPIRIT: it could be speaking in other
languages/tongues; it could be visions/dreams; it could be the gift of prophecy; it could be words of
wisdom/knowledge; it could be healing--but usually GOD shows up in some amazing way. Even the Bible
suddenly comes alive in the hands of someone who is operating in the fullness of the HOLY SPIRIT
baptized in fire as the Bible says. Luke 3:16 (KJV): 16 John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed
baptize you with water; but ONE mightier than I cometh, the latchet of WHOSE shoes I am not worthy to
unloose: HE shall baptize you with the HOLY GHOST and with fire:
GRACE: Often people use the word grace from the Bible without true understanding of what they are
saying. Lukewarm who go to church but have no identifiable relationship with GOD (by spending time in
prayer; reading their Bible faithfully--surrendering their life over to GOD completely--praying to be in the
Will of the FATHER and to have CHRIST as their LORD and MASTER as well as being Baptized in the HOLY
SPIRIT and regularly repentant plus spending time actively pursuing CHRIST throughout the day) DO NOT
HAVE GRACE contrary to their beliefs. What they are is lukewarm and if they die in their lukewarm state
they would be spit out by CHRIST, sent to hell and that is clearly NOT grace. So the lukewarm churches
that claim to have grace are incredibly misled in their understanding. Grace is what is given to those
who make a FULL COMMITMENT (not partial) to CHRIST; operate by submission to the Will of the
FATHER and desire to be baptized in the HOLY SPIRIT. They receive grace because they are daily being set
apart and sanctified by the HOLY SPIRIT (from the world's thinking which is an enmity to GOD) and
although they may stumble even as they are being perfected, GOD gives them grace because daily they
desire to STAY in GOD's Will. So that is the true meaning of Grace. Titus 3:7 (KJV): That being justified
by HIS grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. Revelation 3:16 (KJV): So
then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of MY Mouth.
FILLED WITH THE SPIRIT (or SPIRIT-FILLED): When a person has repented of their sin; accepted the
Salvation of CHRIST (WHO paid their penalty on the cross); surrendered to the Will of the FATHER in

exchange for their own will (which they really worship the enemy of GOD if they are in a state of
rebellion to the Will of the FATHER); and submitted to be baptized in the HOLY SPIRIT--then the HOLY
SPIRIT comes to live within the individual and to lead them; guide them; and comfort them--this is truly
what it means to be SPIRIT-filled: the heart's desire to make their will the Will of GOD. Acts 2:4 (KJV):
And they were all filled with the HOLY GHOST, and began to speak with other tongues, as the SPIRIT gave
them utterance.
HAVING A RELATIONSHIP WITH CHRIST: The lukewarm church believes that attending church; listening to
popular Christian music and buying products with scriptures inscribed on them is their idea of
relationship with CHRIST. They will be very stunned if they don't change their ways to learn that they
were wrong and CHRIST will tell them to depart from HIM because HE NEVER KNEW THEM...
Relationship implies actually learning about the other person such as reading the Bible; and talking to
that person such as prayer and then caring about the same things like reaching out to lost people. But
CHRIST wants to be the first thing on someone's mind in the morning through the day and at the end of
the day...HE wants first place on the throne of their heart. What does that mean to you? It could mean
turning off the TV and making time for prayer--it could mean skipping reading some secular book and
instead reading the Bible. All I can tell you is you can never get too much of a good thing when it comes
to GOD. Make GOD your first priority and you will find the Narrow Way. Matthew 7:21-23 (KJV): 21 Not
everyone that saith unto ME, LORD, LORD, shall enter into the Kingdom of Heaven; but he that doeth the
Will of MY FATHER which is in Heaven. 22 Many will say to ME in that day, LORD, LORD, have we not
prophesied in THY Name? And in THY Name have cast out devils? And in THY Name done many
wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I NEVER KNEW YOU: depart from ME, ye that
work iniquity.
RIGHTEOUSNESS: Righteous--that is what you become when you surrender to CHRIST fully and submit to
the Will of the FATHER and repent of your sin before a HOLY GOD. You become perfected because you
choose GOD perfectly and because you choose GOD over HIS enemy, Satan and you choose to move
daily toward GOD and HIS Will for your life. Even though you may stumble as you move toward
righteousness you receive grace because your heart is sold out to GOD.
BLASPHEMING THE HOLY SPIRIT (also known as the unforgivable sin): The HOLY SPIRIT draws people to
CHRIST but if people continue to reject the drawing of the HOLY SPIRIT toward CHRIST and they keep
rejecting their calling they may not receive the Salvation of their soul which ONLY CHRIST can give
them... ONLY CHRIST can provide the pardon they need to stand before a HOLY GOD because of HIS
Blood-bought salvation. If the person continues to reject and mock (blaspheming) the calling of the
HOLY SPIRIT then the person will never receive the salvation of their soul and they then commit the
unforgivable sin. Continual rejection of the drawing of the HOLY SPIRIT is a dangerous thing because the
HOLY SPIRIT will be grieved and HE will stop drawing the person and the person has no idea when his last
breath will be and so it is very serious to continue to ongoing blaspheme the HOLY SPIRIT.
