** IMPORTANT NOTICE **
IN ORDER TO PREVENT "SEA WATER WET DAMAGE OF CARGOES" CAUSED
BY THE INSUFFICIENT MAINTENANCE AND INAPPROPRIATE OPERATION
OF HOLD BILDGE AND BALLASTING SYSTEM, PLEASE PAY YOUR FULL
ATTENTION TO THE FOLLOWING POINTS:1. WATER TIGHTNESS OF HATCH COVER :
- TO CHECK WATER TIGHTNESS OF HATCH COVERS, HOLD VENTILATORS,
HOLD ACCESS HATCHES, LAMP HATCHES BY CONDUCTING "HOSE TEST"
(WATER PRESSURE ABOUT 2.0 KG/CM2) BEFORE ARRIVAL AT LOADING
PORT AND DEFECTIVE PARTS IF ANY, SHOULD BE ADJUSTED OR
REPAIRED (USING MARINE SEALING TAPE).
- TO CLEAN/SWEEP HATCH COAMING, DRAIN HOLDES BEFORE CLOSING
HATCH COVERS (AFTER LOADING OPERATION).
- TO CHECK/CONFIRM CARGO CONDITION (NO WATER INGRESS INTO CARGO
HOLDS) ESPECIALLY TO CHECK UNDER THE FORE/AFTER PART OF HATCH
COVERS MEETING JOINT AT LEAST TWO DAYS BEFORE ARRIVAL AT
DISCHARGING PORT, AND ALSO TO REPORT US OF THE OUTCOME.
2.IN ORDER TO PREVENT THE WATER LEAKAGE INTO THE HOLD WITH
WATER BALLAST-CUM-CARGO HOLD:- TO CHECK THE CONDITION OF THE "BLIND PLATE" OF BALLAST WELL,
PACKING, STUDS AND NUTS, AND ALSO PROPER TIGHTNING, AFTER
DEBALLASTING THE HOLD PRIOR TO LOADING CARGO.
- TO CHECK AND CONFIRM THAT ALL VALVES AND ACTUATORS OF
BALLASTING SYSTEM, ESPECIALLY THE STOP VALVES OF HOLD
BALLAST LINES ARE IN GOOD ORDER AND GOOD WORKING CONDITION,
AND ALSO KINDLY INFORM US THE RESULT.
- TO FIT "THE BLANKS" ON THE BALLAST LINES TO THE WATER
BALLAST HOLDS IF YOU ARE FITTED WITH "THE SPECTACLE FLANGE"
ON THE BALLAST LINES, AFTER COMPLETION OF DEBALLASTING
OPERATION UNTIL JUST BEFORE BALLASTING INTO THE WATER
BALLAST HOLDS.
- TO FIT "THE BLANKS" ON THE BILGE LINES TO THE WATER BALLAST
HOLD BEFORE BALLASTING INTO THE WATER BALLAST HOLDS.
3.IN ORDER TO PREVENT THE BACKFLOW OF BALLAST WATER INTO
CARGO HOLDS:- TO FIT BLANKS OR REMOVE CONNECTING PIPE / SPOOL PIECE
BETWEEN BILGE LINE AND BALLAST LINE EXCEPT FOR EMERGENCY
USE, IF VESSEL IS FITTED WITH THEM.
- TO CHECK AND CONFIRM THAT ALL STOP VALVES, NON RETURN VALVES
AND OTHER RELATED VALVES OF THE BILGE SYSTEM ADJACENT TO THE
BALLAST LINE ARE IN GOOD WORKING ORDER AND CONDITION AND

ARRANGEMENTS SHALL BE MADE TO ENSURE EFFECTIVE ISOLATION
HAVING REGARD TO THE LARGE PRESSURE DIFFERENCE WHICH MAY
EXIST BETWEEN THE BILGE LINE AND BALLAST LINE.
- TO ENSURE THAT ALL DISUSED BILGE AND BALLAST VALVES ARE
PROPERLY CLOSED WHEN BALLASTING OPERATION IS CARRIED OUT.
PLEASE CONFIRM TO US THAT ALL ITEMS ARE IN ORDER PRIOR ARRIVAL
AT LOAD AND DISCHARGE PORT.
