Tattoos on Your Feet, or Not
By Jayna Wolfe

To me, tattoos are pointless, cuz if you get one, you probably dont want to show the public. So if there
is anyone out there reading this who has a tattoo, Im sorry, but Im just saying or writing my opinion.

Tattoos on your feet are different. They are usually small, they are shown to the public, and no one usually
pays attention to them. Im so sorry if Im being critical, but again, Im just saying or writing, my opinion.

Tattoos Are Creepy

By Katie Gorson

Things that go on your feet

They can be really neat
Shiny
Grimy
Blue and new
Oh all the things you can do
When youre wearing a super cool shoe

I just dont see what people would want to have pictures

on their skin. I know that when a tragedy happens or you lose a
loved one, people get tattoos of things that remind them of their
loss. But really, how could you forget that?! If the person meant
a lot to you then you probably wouldnt forget them anyway.
Usually when people without tattoos see people with them, they
will lapel them as something like rebelling teen tattoo person.
Do you really want to be labeled as that? Ive also heard from
a lot of people who have gotten tattoos that it hurts a lot. They
said that it feels like a million bees stinging you at once. Is it
really worth the pain?? I dont think so.

Things That Go On Your Feet.

By Katie Predella
Well, obviously shoes and socks go on your
feet. But do tattoos really belong there? I
dont think they do. Besides, when you walk
around, no one can see them. Does tape go
on your feet? Maybe it does. I dont know.
I would like to see what other crazy things
go on your feet. Some people have really
strange things that go on your feet. Ice packs
can go on your feet. Blisters can end up on
your feet. Boots are for your feet. Band-Aids
get on your feet when you get a cut there.
Kinda strange what goes on your feet these
days. One thing, dont give a mouse a cookie
if it was on your feet, even though it doesnt
belong there.

Tattoos
By Luke Martiros
Tattoos can come in so many different sizes, shapes and
colors. Some people have tattoos all over their body. Have you
ever seen somebody with tattoos all over their body? It makes
them look like a bad person and they are representing themselves
in a bad way. I think that tattoos are totally unnecessary, but if
you do have a tattoo for religion purposes that is okay, or if you
have a tattoo for a sports team that would be fine. But, basically
when you are getting a tattoo you are putting poisonous ink into
your skin. More and more people are starting to get tattoos. I
know personally I will never get a tattoo. And I hope you will
never get one too!

Quick Comment

What brand of shoes are you?

By Halle Sisenwinwe

The Daily Double staff just voted to choose themes for out
themed Friday Daily Double publications. The themes we
chose were things on your feet and tattoos.

1. Do you like animals?

A] yes
B] I love them
C] no

Why must they do this to me? I hate tattoos. I see them

as some of the most calamitous, deplorable, opprobrious,
reprehensible, and sickening inventions known to man. I
fail to understand why somebody would screw up their
nice skin because they think its cool.
I just returned from Italy, and saw too many people for
my comfort with tattoos on their skin. What is it that
drives people to do this to themselves? A stereotype about
Italians that might tie into this is that for them, beauty
comes before comfort. I wondered if this could mean that
somehow, certain marketing techniques used by suppliers
caused people see tattoos as beautiful.
Sadly, these afflictive creations have become more
common than before. Walk down a city street and see if
there isnt one person there with ink permanently infused
under their G-d-given skin. As I mentioned earlier, this
was a problem in Italy. Back in Boston, I notice it much
more than before.
I havent seen much marketing for tattoos, but I will now
have my eyes open. I believe we have a right to know
about perceptions of beauty, marketing, and bad choices.
Or any combination of the three. Norman Steinberg can be
reached at nzsteinberg@gmail.com.

2. What is your favorite season?

A] spring/summer
B] winter
C] fall
3. Whats your favorite color?
A] blue
B] pink
C] other
4. Are you a boy or girl?
A] boy
B] girl
C] girly girl
If you mostly got a] then you are nikes
If you mostly got b] then you are flip flops
If you mostly got c] then you are uggs.

and colorful. Some of those shoes are reezigs, nikes

Summer Films
By Gabe Rogovan
There are going to be some new summer movies.
There will be Cars 2 (which is not supposed to be
that good), Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows:
Part II, A new Transformers, Dark of the Moon, The
Green Lantern, Captain America and Pirates of the
Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. Some of these movies
are supposed to be good and others are not supposed
to be that good.
Justin Beiber Temporary Tattoos
By Katie Gorson
Justin Beiber is making temporary tattoos. Now I think
it would be creepy to have a picture of Justin Beiber on
my skin, but apparently a lot of people buy them.
Feet
By Olivia Garrahan
Today is my birthday. It has nothing to do with feet.

Staff Tattoos, Part 1

By Sydney Asnis and Olivia Hartshorn
We interviewed a bunch of staff members about their
tattoos and the stories and significance behind them.
Holly- Has a tattoo of a spiraling circle with two
lines underneath it. The tattoo represents balancing
personal weaknesses and strengths and is a reminder
of different obstacles she has overcome.
Amy- Has a tattoo of a dinosaur that her son drew
when he was five years old. It is his very special
version of Dawn of the Dinosaurs from Ice Age. It
has no tail so it is stronger and quicker and cannot be
caught. The tattoo is exactly as he drew it.
Ben B- Has a tattoo of a man throwing a spear. It is
an ancient cave drawing and is some of the very first
evidence we have of human art.
John- Has three tattoos. One is a shamrock, which
symbolizes him Irish heritage. One is a maple leaf,
which symbolized his French-Canadian heritage and
the last is a town sign of Boston, his wonderful
hometown.
Arlyn- Has a tattoo of a Lilly. It was drawn by an
artist she really loves and appreciates. She says that
she is a bad visual artist so she wanted a design on
her skin created by an artist she really loved.
Rachel H.- Has a tattoo of her favorite Authors face
as a cartoon. This author has been very inspirational
to her in life and in inspiring her visions for her
future.

A Note from Walker

A lot of campers have been asking me if I can print out old issues of the Daily Double for them. While Id be
happy to do so, it is much easier to catch up on back issues of the Daily Double on our website, dailydoubleblog.blogspot.com, where we post each and every issue alongside excellent posts by our fifth period class.
Things You Should Know
By Elizabeth Napier

Fashion
By Marijke Perry

There are many things to know in life. These are some:

Okay, all you people who are about to go read or

reread another article because of what this title
says, stop. This is not your average article. Why
do we care so much about fashion? Fashion is a
frivolous (pointless) thing. Fashion is how you
look. And while I know you cant look terrible,
why the heck do we care about looking good?
Fashion is whatever is in at the moment. And
once that moment passes, you have a bunch of
pointless stuff and have wasted a lot of money.
I swear, when I saw the article titled Fashion
in Wednesdays Daily Double, I was tempted to
wear everything that the girl who wrote said was
unfashionable. And to be honest, every time I
see someone wearing a feather in their hair, two
things go through my mind: 1. you look like a
duck. 2. I am resisting the temptation to rip that
thing out of your hair. And what happens to the
people who cant get whats Fashionable? In
many cases, they are bullied. At one of my friends
school, a girl went home early because she was
so sad that her clothes were inferior to someone
elses. Fashion is actually one of the most common
types of bullying in the US. So do everyone a
favor, and next time someone tries to tell you
that your look isnt whats in, say thank you,
because being different is what makes the world
go round. (Well, besides gravity and inertia.)

Never eat rotten eggs

Fu is a word
The word peoples is weird
Justin Bieber is a bad singer (in my opinion)
Unicorns are real (look very closely)
Ooblek is a liquasid (liquid/solid)
Pink is awesome
You should respect other peoples opinions
Snakes have scales
CRCAP IS THE BEST CAMP EVER!!!
Here are some quotes I find well, no words explain
them:
Sometimes it takes a good fall to know where you stand
- Hailey Williams
Be the change you want to see in the world - Gandhi
Life isnt about how to survive in a storm, but about
how to dance in the rain -Taylor Swift
Camper vs. Counselor Dodge ball
By Stephen Gorson
By the time you read this, hopefully you have
already participated in the camper vs. counselor dodge
ball game. This CRCAP event is becoming an annual
installment to camp life. However, its popularity was
not always as it is today.

Last year, second session, my friend and I, (and
Reed of course), were able to round up about 200 campers
and 60 counselors. Needless to say, the gym was packed.
Another cool fact about camper vs. counselor dodge ball
is that all the counselors wore black. In response, my
friend and I told all the campers to wear white. All in all
it was a ton of fun and will hopefully become a CRCAP
tradition.
