Ive learned in school about the importance of having a goal in
life, about setting priorities and venturing out to achieve them. But learning something and applying it are two different things. Having a purpose in life is essential because without one whats our use? One must clear his/her thoughts before committing and action, And no matter how occupied we are we will only be effective if we know where we are headed. So first we must define what an End in Mind is? An End in Mind is starting with our goals portrait clearly and it is the reference by which everything else we do in our life is measured. How do we choose our End in Mind? As proper Muslims that shouldnt be a problem since Allah (Subhanahowataala) told us And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me [51:56] and And [mention, O Muhammad], when your Lord said to the angels, "Indeed, I will make upon the earth a successive authority." [2:30] Muslims have their path clear to them they weonly have to carve our way through it. Al-Jannah is the ultimate prize, the utopia Greeks, Romans and Ancient Egyptian described and every civilization dreams about is our End in Mind and to reach it was must follow the guidelines given to us by Him S- by doing that wed be fulfilling our purpose (serving God) and wed reach paradise. Now, even though the road to Allah is clear is it not easy to go through. Dunya is a vicious beast that will do everything in its power to trap us in it poisoning us with its worries until we are numb from feeling our true calling. One must be strong to resist temptations. Youll find Fitna everywhere, people blinded by greed and morals are non-existent unfortunately we now live in a world full of contradictions. People say one thing then they turn around and do the exact opposite, it is here that we say, Actions speak louder than words. It is not enough to know the truth because Allah will not ask you if you knew what was right or wrong rather you will be asked what have you DONE with your knowledge? Did you apply it in your life? Did you teach it to others so that they might benefit from it? In the Holy Quran He said Allah will not change the good condition of a people as long as they do not change their state of goodness themselves [13:11]. We should all be in constant reflection-mode with ourselves making sure that we did not deviate from the righteous path. That being said Allah gave us all the tools needed to go through this hard route. With our End in Mind clear and our Quran
clutched tightly in our arms we have a good fighting chance to reach
our promised Utopia if Allah wills it. By Hana Heiba
