GENERAL SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

This installation manual is intended for professionaly competent personnel only.
The installation, the power connections and the settings must be completed in conformity with Good Working
Methods and with the regulations in force.
Read the instructions carefully before beginning to install the product. Incorrect installation may be a source of
danger.
Packaging materials (plastics, polystyrene, etc) must not be allowed to litter the environment and must be kept
out of the reach of children for whom they may be a source of danger.
Before beginning the installation check that the product is in perfect condition.
Do not install the product in explosive areas and atmospheres: the presence of flammable gas or fumes represents a serious threat to safety.
The safety devices (photocells, sensitive edges, emergency stop, etc) must be installed taking into account: the
provisions and the directives in force, Good Working Methods, the installation area, the funtional logic of the
system and the forces developed by the motorised door or gate.
Before making power connections, check that the rating corresponds to that of the mains supply
A multipolar disconnection switch with a contact opening gap of at least 3 mm must be included in the
mains supply.
Check that upstream of the electrical installation an adequate residual current circuit breaker and an overcurrent
cut out are fitted.
When requested, connect the motorized door or gate to an effective earthing system carried out as indicated by
current safety regulations.
During installation, maintenance and repair operations, cut off the power supply before opening the cover to
access the electrical parts.
The electronic parts must be handled using earthed antistatic conductive arm bands.
The manufacturer of the motorisation declines all responsability in the event of components which are not
compatible with the safe and correct operation of the product.
For repairs or replacements of products only original spare parts must be used.
INSTALLATION WARNING
Secure the control panel permanently. Drill a hole into the lower side of the container so as to run the cables
through it. Secure the cables, if they are accessible, by means of appropriate gland plates (not provided by us).
Keep the line and motor conductors separate (at least 8 mm) from the control conductors at the terminal board
connection points (for example, by means of clamps). Connect the line and motor protection conductors (yellowgreen) by means of the terminal provided. Re-close the container by means of the 4 screws, taking care to
properly position the cover (lower side = devoid of gasket).

When door is not moving, inhibits all operation.
Refer to TC setting chapter 1.3.

9 N.C. STOP / CONTROL HOLD

TO RUN

Control 1-9 open stops the movement and enables the

service man function.
In this condition opening (1-3 / 1-20) and closing (1-4)
controls work only if kept pressed, when released, the
automation will stop. Safeties, if present, trigger the stop
whereas the step-by-step control and the automatic closing
are disabled.
To achieve a complete stop following the opening 1-9 (for
example the emergency stop), connect the opening controls
to terminals 9-3, 9-20 and the closing controls to terminals
9-4.

BAT (Only for Logic C22) The electric panel is fitted with two series-connected 12V= 6.5Ah lead-acid storage
batteries. The battery is charged and kept charged only when the electric panel is powered from the mains; the
battery is used as a buffer or in case of power failure and is cut out automatically after voltage dropping to below
22V for 120 seconds.
Connect mains and battery to the electric board at least half an hour before powering the installation (in order
to charge the battery). To power off the electric board, cut off mains and disconnect the batteries.
Attention: Always ensure that the battery is connected to the electric panel. The batteries are essential for
operations in the presence of : Box 3SH, Cubic 30H, Elit 50H/BH, Luxo 5BH.

Automatic closure time. From 0 to 120 s. Count down initiates or starts up again:
- according to the time set by TC at the end of opening or upon an open command being
given, when the gate is stationary in the open position;
- for half of the time set by TC after triggering a safety device (1-6 / 1-7 /1-8) or at the end
of partial opening.
With 1-2 or 1-9 open, automatic closing is disabled. Closing 1-2 re-enables automatic
closing. If disabled from 1-9, automatic closing is once again enabled, by contacts 1-9
being reclosed, only after an open command is given.
Movement speed adjustment. Turning of the trimmer clockwise adjusts
opening speed from a minimum to a maximum. Closing speed is about two thirds
that of opening. If Obbi3BH/Arc BH-type motors are used, the opening speed
corresponds to the closing speed.
Motor 1 (2) operating time. The opening/closing manoeuvre is schematically shown in fig.
3.3 and 3.4. The overall speed of the manoeuvre actually consists of two speeds: one set via
VM of the duration of M1 (M2) and another, a slowing down speed, lasting for a fixed interval
of 5 s during opening and 10 s during closing. Set M2 to a minimum to operate only 1 motor
or 2 motors in parallel, simultaneously controlled by M1 and wired up as shown in Fig. 5.1
(for example in the case of two motors being mounted on the same overhead door).
Delay time adjustment. Controls the delay time of motor 1 during closing from 3 to 30 seconds.
During opening, the delay of motor 2 is fixed at 3 s (only in case of M2 not being set to a
minimum). With TR set to minimum, the delay time during closing is not always 3s but only after
an opening operation completed successfully by both wings. As far as all the installations in
which wing 1 overlaps wing 2 are concerned, trimmer TR must be set to min. 1/4.
Partial opening. From 0 to 45 s. (Can in no case be set to values greater than M1).

Obstacle detection adjustment. A safety device is located on the electric panel the
purpose of which is to stop door opening and closing in case of an obstacle being detected.
With R1=MIN, maximum sensitivity to obstacles is achieved (minimum thrust).
With R1=MAX, minimum sensitivity to obstacles is achieved (maximum thrust).

2.4

Make a jumper between the safety devices and the STOP.

Set TC and R1 at maximum and TR at minimum.
Make connections to motors and power supply (mains and batteries).
When slow-down microswitches are fitted, adjust them for opening and closing and set M1 and M2 to
maximum values.
Set VM and check opening and closing speeds by means of signals 1-3 and 1-4.
Warning: In case of wings slamming, adjust the microswitches so as to make them trigger sooner.
2.5 When microswitches are not fitted, set M1 (M2) and VM to mid-values.
Set speed to desired value by acting on VM and check by means of signals 1-3 and 1-4.
Note: Never send a new signal before the previous manoeuvre has been completed.
Warning: The gate may strike against the stops.
After having set the desired speed and checked it by means of signals 1-3 and 1-4, adjust the operating time M1 (M2)
so that the wings come softly at low speed against the stops.
It is advisable to set an opening slow-down time of approximately 1-2 seconds, so that in the event of friction
or adverse weather conditions (wind, ice, etc.) complete opening is assured.
Note: In order to compensate for any reduction in speed and to ensure best operating conditions it is important that the gate comes to rest against the stop before the motor comes to a halt.
2.6 Remove the jumpers, connect the safety devices and the controls and check their function.
2.7 If necessary, adjust with TR the delay time of motor 1.
2.8 If desired, connect 1-2 and adjust the automatic closure with TC. Warning: the automatic closure time
after the operation of one of the safety devices is half the set time.
2.9 Set the obstacle detection sensitivity with R1.
2.10 If desired, set the partial opening time of motor 1 via RP
2.11 Re-close the container by means of the 4 screws, taking care to properly position the cover (lower side =
Devoid of gasket).
Warning: the Logic C22/C22S control panel can recognize the type of motors connected (ARC BH BOX 3SH
CUBIC 30H ELIT 50H/BH LUXO 5BH OBBI 3BH) during the first two operations. In the event of malfunctioning,
turn the electricity off and then on again (mains and batteries, if present).
