use the sleeve & sealing work, when routing through concrete wall or floor.
After laying the copper piping, flush the cooper pipes with nitrogen to maintain
the dryness & cleanness.
flushing nitrogen pressure : more than 5kgf/
Copper pipes used, is seamless type, so, in case welding works required,
make sure to blow the nitrogen gas.
Seal the edge of the pipes to protect from inflow of debris

Check for bends, cracks etc. of pipes after installation

Flare process
Flare connection between Indoor and outdoor Units
Improper connection leads to leakage of refrigerant
- make sure to do the reamer work before flare connections
Piping work(Bending)
make sure to minimize the friction to refrigerant flow
increase in the friction, reduces the capacity
- careful use of the spring for bending work only
- dont use the hands for bending work
Welding
insert the nitrogen gas for protect the gas leakage
- if necessary, use the Thermal protector (clay)
at top and bottom 15~20 cm of welding point

Leaking Test

Usually, drain temperature is about 10.

Therefore, condensation takes place, when air comes in contact with drain pipe,
resulting in water seepage
-if air gap exist between drain pipe with insulation, condensation takes place,
water droplets are partially absorbed by insulation material, however, if more
condensation, water leakage takes place
( insulation material - FORM PE and thickness is more than 10mm )
- Insulate the Drain connection socket after sealing test
- Drain pipe Insulation shall be up to the unit including the flexible hose
- Flexible Hose shall be made tight using fixing band and shall be fixed without
bending

3) Out door foundation work

- When the units are installed on the roof or the floor, Vibration may
be transmitted to the installation section and noise and vibration may be
generated from the floor and walls, depending on the installation conditions.
Therefore, provide ample vibration proofing (cushion pads, cushion frame, etc.).
- Foundation works are required for out door units (Scope of Construction
Company)
- In case of Big project(More than 20 units, e.g. school project),
if foundation work is not provided, Noise claim will be there.
- an example of foundation work in shown below in the figure.

installation deficiency may cause unit to fall down,
resulting in a personal injury.

While making the foundation, provide drain water disposal.

Make sure to install unit at a place strong enough to withstand

its weight.

Enough Space shall be provided for air passage and service work.
- prevent vibration and noise.

Select space, easy to wire with main power source.

It is recommended to fence around the outdoor unit in order to

prevent any person or animal from accessing the outdoor unit.
- Do not install O/D outside the veranda and on outer wall, to preven
falling down and avoid difficulty for maintenance

Vacuuming & Gas charging

Vacuuming

Work vacuuming to remove nitrogen gas, air, and moisture after

connecting pipes.
Prepare vacuum pump, vacuum gauge, monkey wrench,
manifold gauge, and six angle wrench.
Connect the vacuum hose each to SVC valves of gas and liquid side.
Be sure to use vacuum pump and vacuum gauge.
* Except for Multi-V : Evacuation up to 0.05 Torr

check the degree of a vacuum by vacuum gauge

Additional
Charge

Calculate the additional charge of refrigerant on account of Piping length

additional charge :
-3.0hp : 70g/m, 5.5Hp : 100g/m.
-Make sure to use charging-cylinder for precise charging in inverter type

Vacuuming & Gas charging

Gas
Charging

Make sure to use scale or charging-cylinder to charge additional

refrigerant.
Can be charged in liquid state.
- Refer to the manual for using charging-cylinder and weight scale.

Vacuuming : More than 4hr per

unit

Additional charge: 70g /m

Make sure to use scale and cylinder

Check pressure : manifold gauge

Charging refrigerant

10 Initial test run

1. Refrigerant Leakage Test
To check gas leakage, use the soap bubble or leakage detector at joints, SVC
Valves etc.

2. Connection of power supply (Crankcase heater)

Crankcase heater is a critical control for most rooftop and pad-mounted units,
usually a strap-heater strip attached to the hermetic motor-compressor
unit. In the beginning of the cooling season, before starting the unit, the crankcase
heater must be energized. Verify this with a clamp-on ammeter. The crankcase
heater should be energized for at least six hours before running the compressor
and should be left energized for the rest of the season.
.

3. Check operating
Make sure to use remote controller when testing run.
- Check negative current.
- When negative current, it will be blinked the LED of relay in O/D and I/D and error
mark is displayed on remote controller display.
- Check wire connection between O/D and I/D.
- Signal line has polarity, so right connections shall be made, otherwise, error will
occur, like, I/D fan operating, O/D fan is not operating
Make sure to start test run from cooling mode to protect 4way valve and
compressor.
- Can not operate cooling mode in winter because of operating temp. range.
- Usually test run for 30minute. After finishing test run, normal operating starts
and test run signal will be disappeared.
- In case of heat pump, start on heating mode after finishing test run and
additional cooling mode for 10 minute.
