MONDAYEVANGELISTIC PRAYER
Chronological Bible Reading: Proverbs 1-3; 2 Corinthians 10
Monday, September 5
Isa. 63:7 I will mention the lovingkindnesses of the LORD, and the praises of the
LORD, according to all that the LORD hath bestowed on us, and the great goodness toward
the house of Israel, which he hath bestowed on them according to his mercies, and according to
the multitude of his lovingkindnesses.
Lord and Loving Savior:
Can I not do this, especially as I approach the fall? Are there no mercies I
experience that would let me go out this week with a testimony to __________
and __________? Even if I feel down in the dumps at the ending of summer,
can I not remember what you have done, and witness of that to them?
Lord, snap the chains of some lost soul I know! Did you not come to set
them freefree from sin and death and hell? Give me a precious milestone along
the way by letting me lead someone to Christ! I know sick people who need
restoring. I know poor ones who need supplying. I know some in dire straits who
need delivering. Help them rise up and follow the light you have already
given, and seek their souls salvation in Jesus Christ.
You have so often answered in my own time of need. Give me the words
to be a witness of Christ and a witness to his cross, and also a testimony of your
great loving-kindness! My lost relatives and friends need to know how much you
love them. Maybe if I can put on display your choice mercies from yesterday,
then they will be emboldened to trust their heart to Jesus Christ today.
Oh Lord, it may seem dark to me now, but help me turn on the lights that
will shine across your mercy. I want to glitter through the darkness by shining-out
your praises.
2 Cor. 9:15 Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.
Now help me offer it to others in Jesus stead. Amen.
A DAILY PATTERN FOR PRAYER & BIBLE READING
Chronological Bible Reading: Proverbs 10-12; Galatians 1
Thursday, September 8
1 Sam. 23:16 And Jonathan Sauls son arose, and went to David into the wood, and
strengthened his hand in God.
WEDNESDAYREVIVAL PRAYING
Chronological Bible Reading: Proverbs 7-9; 2 Corinthians 12
Wednesday, September 7
John 5:7-8 The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is
troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me. Jesus
saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.
Rom. 13:13-14 Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness,
not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. But put ye on the Lord Jesus
Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.
Rom. 14:4 Who art thou that judgest another mans servant? to his own master he
standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.
Psa. 17:15 As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when
I awake, with thy likeness.
Faithful Father:
What satisfies other men and women my age? Something that fills their
body? Something that fills their house? Something that fills their bank account?
Something that fills their children? Something that fills their heart? People of the
world have their treasure in this world. Thats why they come to me and other
Christians when they start to look higher and farther for satisfaction.
They see the satisfaction I have is twofold: I get Gods presence here and I
get Gods likeness hereafter. Hereas long as I stay in the hard but right pathI
behold the face of the Lord. But oh, the impact that has!
2 Cor. 3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are
changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
Seeing it, does not end it. I am actually transformed into that which I am
looking at! I become what I behold. I sleep a while, and wake up to find myself
a mirror image of the beauties of the Lord! Whoa!
Faith sees Christ with a transforming look.
My heart receives your image into its own depths, and then the imprint of
Jesus is left on my soul, and it becomes observable to all who know me. That is
satisfaction. When I see that, I am content.
What more can I desire this fall than those two things: to see you and to be
made more like you? I believe I can have it; I do expect it; I offer you this plea
for it now. Lord, bestow it for your Sons sake. Lord, he died to impart it. Lord,
give it for your Spirits sake, who lives inside me to display it. I have to ask this,
because it is what Jesus wants. Grant it for his sake and glory! Amen.

1 Cor 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God
hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.
GIVE GOD THE FIRST DIME OF EVERY DOLLARno questions
asked. Ten percent is a miniscule amount in our affluent society, but it must come
off the top in order to show that God is our priority. We want the blessing of the
firstfruits (first devotion, first dime and first day) to flow out to the rest of our
resources.
3)
TEAMWORD
Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is;
but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
GIVE GOD THE FIRST DAY OF EVERY WEEK. You should fellowship
with a group of believers around the word of God every Sunday in our church.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Baptists tend to ridicule liturgical churches that use "prepared prayers" because
they lack spontaneity. But for many Baptists, their prayers are so predictable they are
no more spontaneous than written-out prayers. The result is we end up praying the
same things over and over.
This daily Prayer Diary will prompt you on a wide range of prayer requests you
might not normally think of, while forcing you to articulate a deeper devotion to
God. We have included a daily Bible reading schedule. This plan will take you
through the Bible chronologically in a year.
Do not read ahead and do not try to catch up. Use each day as it comes. Then
you can know that on any given day, dozens of other people are lifting their hearts in
the same mind to God. Pray what is written, but use what is prayed as a springboard
for your own relationship with God. You learn to pray by praying.
Alan
Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the
strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus
Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had
prayed.
Oh, says one, I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times
and seasons for prayer. And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of
prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the
injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore
there must not be some season for more immediately coming into Gods presence. If
you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus
Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather
than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and
exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be
deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only
spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayerthe posture, the
time, placerather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition.
God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son.
Charles H. Spurgeon, 1834-92
