RIZAL TOUR
There are many historical sites located within the vicinity of Manila and were about to
finish/leave the tour early due to some important agenda but we realized to stay longer,
more of appreciation and reflect on how Philippine history was made. As our professor
enumerates the 3 famous sites of where our tour would start, namely Intramuros, Paco Park
and Rizal Park, it sounds tiring but were excited because its our first time to visit.
Our first destination was in Intramuros, Fort Santiago (with in the walls), known as the
oldest district of Manila, one of the historical site attraction that shouldnt missed especially
if your living in the Philippines because the sceneries are worth to visit. The ambient before
we enter, felt like we came back in past times. From guardia civils costume, walls bricks to
kalesa this makes us fascinate more. Appreciating while taking multiple of shots, yes its our
first destination yet our eyes are already full in such beautiful things. Our professors lecture
seemed flash backing.

Next destination is Rizal Park. Two of the most famous tourist

attractions in Manila, Philippines that reflect the country's long
struggle for independence and freedom are Luneta Park and
Intramuros. These historical sites embody the Philippines'
unique culture and ancestry. So if you want to get an additional
piece of knowledge about the country's glorious past and
cultural orientation, try to include Luneta Park and Intramuros
in your itinerary of travel when coming to Manila. Luneta Park
is an important site of Philippine history; it is where Dr. Jose
Rizal executed on December 30, 1896. The site marker of his
execution can be found not far from the water fountain. His
monument, made of bronze and granite, is closely guarded by
military personnel and visitors are not allowed to go closer to
the vicinity of the monument as well it prohibits tambay in
front of the statue too (because one of our friend scolded by
one of the site guard). But anyway this signifies that the
monument are valued protected by the staff and I felt amazed
and overwhelmed.

Last destination is Paco Park, 10 minutes away from Luneta Park. This park is very special for
me because it feels like Im in a garden of nowhere like in Spanish era world. The park is not
as big as I thought but it fascinate because it is like a multi-purpose park. A circular park is
used to be a municipal cemetery for Spanish aristocrats of the walled city of Intramuros.
Situated in the western boundary of the district of Paco.. Paco Park is opened to public in
1822 as burial grounds for victims of Asiatic cholera pandemic. But aside from the Spanish
aristocrats buried, it was also a resting ground for our 4 national heroes, the martyr priests
and even our national hero, Jose Rizal but later on enshrined in Luneta. As we observed
thoroughly, the main focal point of the circular park is a Roman Catholic chapel dedicated to
St. Pancratrius. And on that day there is a special wedding were held. No wonder this place is
a favorite venue for photo shoots and musical concerts. A romantic spot amid the bust city
and a reminder of manilas rich past

Conclusion
Philippine history is way more of mysteries for me. It is interesting to learn furthermore than
any other history. Upon knowing on all these things, i realized that Philippine history should
value more by our fellow Filipino and somewhat to be proud of. If I were given a project in
my architectural profession, I would preserve all the historical sites in the entire Philippine.
Its because I cant stand to watch fading those precious history in the future. This makes
my conscience burst in to pain.
