The ways to memorize and understand the lesson easily

We as Muslims have many duties to do. One of those things is learning (Islamic or
general). It is based on Sabda Nabi Muhammad SAW that we must study since we were born
till the death comes to us. Learning also can be a kind of thank into Allah SWT for the health
that has been being given by Allah to us, so we can do our daily activities well. Allah SWT
promises that those who study because of Him will get an easier way to get into the Heaven.
Therefor, there is no reason for us not to study or stop studying until we die.

In your study, of course there is a process called ‘Memorizing and understanding’.

Most of us sometimes find some difficulties in memorizing and understanding. Maybe we are
able to memorize something, but the thing that we have memorized will also lose from our
mind easily. Why?? In this chance, we come to you all with many good ways for you to
memorize something easily.

1. Make yourself sure that what you are going to do is only because for Allah SWT.
Before memorizing, you must first intend to memorize it in order to get Allah’
pleasure. Then, you must believe that Allah always sees how hard your effort is
because whatever you do will get the reward.
2. Before starting studying, you should pray first to get an easy way from Allah SWT.
You can at least start it by reciting Basmalah or any additional prays.
3. Do it seriously and continuously.
Never give up because this is for your own importance. If it is needed, you can also
schedule it, so you will be able to concentrate or focus to memorize it.
4. Try to eat more little then before.
This is called Tirakat.
5. Do the optional night prayer (tahajjud).
Not all Muslims can do this prayer. It is believed that only a special and chosen
Muslim given chance by Allah to do it continuously. It is because some Muslims
prefer sleeping to praying to Allah. That’s why tahjjud prayer is precise time to make
ourself closer to Allah SWT.
6. Always read the Qur’an.
7. After finishing Five-time prayers, you should pray.
8. Do not letyour self do bad activities hated by Allah SWT.
9. Read shalawat for our prophet, Muhammad SAW.
10. You should make yourself get used to doing SIWAK (it was done By our prophet,
Muhammad SAW)
11. Don’t be a fussy man in a useless topic; don’t joke too much, and it is better for you to
gather with a good man.
People who talk too much will have more mistakes. Those who used to do mistakes
will have a little shame. And the people who only have little shame, his heart will die.
By gathering and having some conversations with people who are good at the subject
related to what you are going to study, you will indirectly get new knowledge from
them and make you understand it easly.
12. After Shubuh is also good time for us to study.
It is because at this time our mind is still fresh. It has not been used yet after sleeping
for more than 5 hours. That’s why it will be easy for us to memorize and understand
our lesson.
13. The last is by respecting the whole components of our study, such as: the teacher, the
books, your friends, etc.
