THE TRAINEES

in October 2014, CAI was invited to visit a

tiny Peruvian church that wanted help to
set up a project for disabled people in their
city of Arequipa.

IN 2015, WE WORKED WITH TWO GROUPS OF

PEOPLE: THE PHYSICALLY DISABLED AND THOSE
WITH LEARNING DIFFICULTIES.
Group 1 consists of 4 physically disabled
people. Group 2 consists of 30 people with
learning disabilities.

Many of the trainees are young adults. There is a school for people with
disabilities in Arequipa, but after leaving school, these young people are left
with nothing to do and no way of supporting themselves or their families.
Even though CAIs project is still only in its early stages, the training that
these young people have received this year has transformed their lives.

I am so grateful.
It is important for me to be here,
because it is a chance to work.
It is like a family here.
