Installing and Optimizing

Why Dolby?
Fix tiny sound, weak volume, buzzing and rattling

Lets you play your audio much louder over the built-in

speakers, with less distortion


Provides you with total control over your PCs audio

settings

What do you need?


Laptops with either Conexant or Realtek sound card

Dolby Installation Files:

x86 (part 1, 2 and 3) for systems with 32bit OS


x64 (part 1, 2 and 3) for systems with 64bit OS
ThinkMix v2.inx files (works best with ThinkPad any#20

series) # represents the screen size

Make sure you download part 1, 2 and 3 of either x86 or

x64 to the same folder before extracting

How to install?
Uninstall existing Conexant or Realtek drivers

Go to x86 or x64 folder, open DTPC.msi

Optimize your sound


Open Dolby Tuning

and Profile Creator


Under All Tuning

+ Profiles, click Import

Optimize your sound


Go to the folder

where you store


ThinkMix2.inx
Click on ThinkMix2.inx

and click Open

Optimize your sound


For Windows Vista and 7
Go to Control Panel
View by Category:

Hardware and Sound


click Sound or
Manage audio devices
View by Small /
Large Icons:
Sound
Right-click, check
Show Disabled and
Disconnected Device

Optimize your sound


Under Playback tab,

double-click Speakers
Go to Advanced tab
Under Default Format
section, change the
sample rate and
bit depth to 24 bit,
192000 Hz
(Studio Quality)
and click OK
Repeat steps for
headphones

Optimize your microphone


Under Recording tab,

double-click Microphone
Go to Advanced tab
Under Default Format
section, change the
sample rate and
bit depth to 2 channel,
24 bit, 96000 Hz
(Studio Quality) and
click OK
Repeat steps for
other Microphone

Optimize your microphone


Set the microphone level

to 70 and the boost


to 12%

1. Default (ThinkMix v2 Settings, in case you want to

revert manually)
Regulator
Band Coupling: 0.5
Profiles: Balance2 / Loudness2
Intelligent Equalizer: Disabled (Balance2) / Enabled,
Focused (Loudness2)
Dialogue Enhancer: Disabled
Surround Virtualizer: Disabled

2. MAX BASS! (Lower Volume, a bit muddy)

Regulator
Band Coupling: 1.0
Profiles: Balance2
Intelligent Equalizer: Enabled, Warm
Dialogue Enhancer (Enable to Compensate Clarity
*Optional*, Disable for Optimum Bass)
Surround Virtualizer Disabled

3. MAX VOLUME! (Sharp, Crisp, Deafening sound, lack of

bass)
Regulator
Band Coupling: 0.0
Profiles: Loudness2
Intelligent Equalizer: Enabled, Focused
Dialogue Enhancer (Disable for better Vocal, Enable for
better Clarity)
Surround Virtualizer Disabled
