My Number Story

I. Who I was
Passion
When I was younger kid, the career that I always had in mind to work on is being an
astronaut. I always read and studied about astronomy. I learned interesting things
from the astronomy books my parents bought for me which costed more than $20.
Not only science was one of my passions but math also. I had spend a lot of time to
learn math terms such as the Quadratic Formula, Linear Equations, Quartics,
Sigma Notation, Parabolas, expressions, and Cube Roots. I really enjoyed
these early years of my life.

Academic Life
When I entered Gompers at 6th grade, Mr. Bentz teached me a really fun game that
I use critical thinking and reasoning, Chess. I spend time to learn how to play Chess
and used Chesskid.com which is a website where anyone can play Chess versus a
real person. I joined the Chess Team in seventh grade and went to the nationals
during this school year. I thought I was prepared because I had been increasing my
Chess skills due to the practices I had. In the place where we went to compete for
the nationals had more than 500 kids inside. I only won 3 out of 7 games that I had
in the tournament. Also, this school year I was taking Algebra 1 which was
something awesome since I was taking it in 7th Grade. Math was always my
strongest subject. Finally, I had wanted to be part of the key club for community
service hours. I never knew whats the club about but I just wanted to try new
things.

Service
I had served my community by being a good citizen. I have helped my classmates
by volunteering to teach them how to do a certain thing in an assignment. It was
mostly mathematics that I worked with. At least 3 people would ask for help each
week. 70% of the students that ask for help were the same people. I had also
served my family by helping to teach my little sisters for something they didnt
knew like division and taking care for them. When they needed my help, I would go
and serve them.This is how I had serve the people I care .

Me Time
Ever since when I was in 8th Grade, I liked to play games such as Agar.io and
Slither.io. My score in Agar.io and Slither.io was usually above 5,000 points. In
Agar.io, my highest score was 22,000 points. Though, I like to play these type of
guys, I also liked to study science and math in my free time. Last school year, we
were touching the subject of Exponential Functions which was very interesting.
Logarithms was part of the lesson too. These are examples of topics that I would
like to learn more and that would make me happy.

II. Who I am
Passion
The passions that I currently have are very similar to those when I was a younger
kid. My passions are to swim and do water polo. I go to practice every single day
and this will show that I am committed to my sports. I had decreased my times in
my last swim meet for 1 second. Next swim meet, my goal is to decrease the
double of seconds I decreased last swim meet. Also, what I am passionated about
is Junior Lifeguards since it is a program where they train us as a lifeguard. It is
something that I really enjoyed.

Academic Life
A program that I had signed up for this school year is the robotics team. The topic of
robotics became interesting when I attended the robotics summer camp. We build
vehicle robots with lego pieces and compete with other groups. The programing of
the robot included angles that needed certain degrees to make the robot
function well. Next, two subjects that I have for AP classes are AP European History
and AP Spanish Language. I will need to study very well for these classes to pass
the AP exams. Finally, I would like to be part of the AP Calculus class next year. I
know I am prepared since my test scores and grades, which are now always above
90%, high enough. My goal for this year is to get a GPA higher than
4.0.

Service
Recently, I had serve my community for 7 hours. I attended the Key Club for
summer camp and it was fun. We did activities that will have a positive impact
towards animals, sick people, and the environment. We send letters to Rady
Childrens Hospital. We made toys to a dog center. This was how we served the
community.

Me Time
Very similar to the things I liked to do alone when I was younger, I play Diep.io in my
free time. The game is very fun and addicting that , not to show off, I always get to
the leaderboard which is normally 20,000+ to be there. Another thing that makes
me happy in my free time is when I study for a class or read a book, especially the
Bible. The Bible contains science and math estimations such as Pi. These are
things I like to do in my free time.

III. Who I will become

Passion
A passion that I will want to have in the future is the passion of writing essays. I
have had a growth in my writing skills ever since I learned to do the schaffer style
paragraph in 9th Grade. I am still developing the enjoyment of writing and I need to
improve my narrative writing. Another passion I want to develop is for robotics. The
robotics team is something new for me because this is the first year I am doing it.
Its something very interesting and I will be committed to it. When I grown up, I
want to be a type of engineer. A mechanical engineer would be great because math
is my strongest subject.

Academic Life
In the future, I am planning to get in the subject of U.S. History since it would be
one of the last A-G requirements that I will have to complete. I would try to get in
the AP class since it gives college credit and if I get a 5 in the AP exam, financially it
will help me pay my college classes. Another subject I would like to attend is ASL
since it will benefit the deaf community and myself. If i try to learn ASL, the
average for the students knowing ASL will increase just a little. I see myself in the
future, years from now graduated from college, getting a degree to do mechanical
engineer. Their salary is like 100,000 dollars per year.

Service
When I was in 9th grade, I heard of a community service opportunity where I could
teach elderly people how to use the internet. In a near future, I would like to work in
this program because it is nice on my part to help the elderly. Also, I would like to
help out in the pool close to my home by teaching people to swim and help clean
up. This is my plan for completing my hours in a constant and smooth way until I
graduate high school.

Me Time
In the near future, I would like to play less video games and read more books and
texts that are out of my preferences such as poems, historical fiction, and dystopian
novels. This will improve my literacy skills and will have a greater probability to
pass the SAT and other important tests. Also, I want to study history more since I
want to work independently to figure out critical thinking questions such in Ap
European History. This is my plan to prepare myself for college for the next 2 years
or so.
