Lieutenant Governor to recognize top-tier


VQA Ontario wines during awards ceremony
Toronto, September 6, 2016. Her Honour the Hon. Elizabeth Dowdeswell, Lieutenant Governor of
Ontario, will recognize winners of the 2016 Lieutenant Governors Award for Excellence in Ontario
Wines during an awards presentation ceremony tomorrow, Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at 5 p.m.
The ceremony will take place in Committee Rooms 228 and 230 in the Legislative Building at Queens Park.
From among the 27 varietal winners of the Ontario Wine Awards, 12 wines have received the
Lieutenant Governors Award for their overall excellence. In all, 473 wines were considered during this
years contest.

The ceremony will follow a tour of winning wineries conducted by the Lieutenant Governor,
accompanied by members of the Toronto-based Consular Corps. The tour will have made stops at
Southbrook Vineyards and Tawse Winery.
