CORPORATE BOARD MEETING

Cassandra Thomas, Jennie Yingling, Glenn Permuy, Tai Ishia Robinson and guests Susan
Harmeling, Martin Saavedra, Brian Lipenoga and our YES Academy students.
Board Chair Chris Roederer called the meeting to order at 12:10 pm, and welcomed everyone
for attending and introduced new board member Jeff Goodwin, who spoke briefly. Jeff spent
the morning at our Freddie Solomon Club and stated it was a real eye opener talking with the
kids.
Collin Jotham introduced Brian Lipenoga, VP of Living HR, a consulting firm, who is
interested in joining the board. Martin Saavedra was also introduced and is interested in
joining the board.
Chris R. stated there is nothing like experiencing a club and encouraged members to go to a
club. It will bring back the passion on whey they joined the board.
CONSENT ITEMS
Copies of the May and the May Financial Report were provided to the members for their
review prior to the meeting. A Motion to approve the Minutes and Financials was made by
Luis Garcia, seconded by Adam Diasti, Motion passed.
GASPARILLA DISTANCE CLASSIC
Susan Harmeling presented a check to Chris and Chris from the Gasparilla Distance Classic,
and stated they have been involved with BGC since the beginning in 1978 and it is written into
their bylaws to give to BGC and other youth organizations. Total amount was $69,272.13.
Susan shared that BGC provides 125 volunteers per day for the event. TGH is a partner and
had 423 employees participate in the race.
YES ACADEMY STUDENTS
Jennifer Hayes showed a video about the YES Academy and spoke about the 40 teens that
from March through spring break, tours and worked at PwC, Tribridge, Tampa Police
Department, Tech Data and the Sheriffs Department. Almost all of our teens were placed this
year. The Metro office had 4 teens placed here and Jennifer introduced them to the members.
RESOURCE DECELOPMENT
Collin reminded everyone that Steak n Burger will be held on Tuesday, September 27th at
Tippin Hospitality, its out 35th Anniversary. GTE is our main sponsor at $20K. We have
brought in $143K so far and our Community Hero is Jennifer Steinbrenner Swindal. Steak
will be served to the kids and burgers to the guests.

Chris R. spoke about Taste of Kentucky, on November 2nd. Chris thanked Adam Diasti for
holding this event at his home for a second year. Invitations will go out next week. Last year
170 people attended and they expect 200 to 225 people this year.
Luis Garcia spoke about the GFB and Heritage Club. We currently have 47 Heritage Club
members with a goal to expand to everyone on the board. Glenn stated the GFB will be held
December 14th from 7:30 am to 8:30 am. Brooke Bennett, a former club alum from our old
Interbay Club, will be the guest speaker. The goal is $1M and to expand our donor base.
Several 1 pagers were in the packets on Heritage Club and GFB.
BOARD DEVELOPMENT
Chris R. reported that we are looked at potential board members for the Corporate and
Foundation boards. At our strategic session, well set goals for gender, minorities.
COMMUNITY RELATIONS
Ricky Gallon showed a power point highlighting just a few of the events that happened at the
clubs.
Tower Hill Insurance hosted 125 kids at Riverview Soccer Field on a Saturday
morning. Brandon and Wimauma were champions to represent Tampa in a statewide
championship to be held at the University of Florida.
Grand DPR Construction built three classrooms at Wilbert Davis, replacing ceiling tile,
put up walls and furnished chairs, table, televisions, projectors and materials for all
class rooms.
Titus ONeal, professional wrestler and Jameis Winston with the TB Bucs visited the
West Tampa BGC. Going Pro gave tickets to 18 kids to attend a WWE Match at
Amelie Arena.
PwC interns and our kids packed 400 hygienic care packages for our teens in our
organization.
Ben Bishop, TB Lightning goalie, donated clothes shoes and hockey sticks to West
Tampa and played with the kids for over 2 hours.
PRESIDENTS REPORT
Chris Letsos updated the board on the proposed actions discussed at the last meeting. We are
transitioning North Tampa, Zonta and Port Richey, which will increase our ADA by 55% at some
locations, with Port Richey will be a 100% increase. At the Sheriffs sites, the kids like the deputies
being there. Were at a 95% graduation rate with our kids. Chris spoke of the importance of us
training our kids.
Chris states we will be looking at our Corporate and Foundation strategy and goals at the Strategic
Planning session on November 10th.
With no other business, Chris R. adjourned the meeting at 1:05
