On April 29, a seminar entitled Career Goals: Advancing competence

for Global trends was held at Bulwagang Balagtas.

Ms Mary Joy Remada was one of the resource speakers and she talked
about how to stand out from the crowd or the steps of what we should all do
during interview. First is to know what job I'd like. This means that we should
tell the job we want so that the interviewer doesnt have to guess where he
should put us.Having a job is not just having it. It's about the passion you
have for that particular job. Second was to develop our networking skills. We
should not be afraid of networking. Networking in the sense that we have
persons to contact inside the company or in other words, we should have
backer because they prioritize familiar people that they already know the
character and personality when it comes to work. She also told us that we
should show off our voluntary and extracurricular experiences from our past
jobs just and put all of what we achieve instead of what we only do in work.
And also each one of us should not tell the reasons to hire us rather show it
to the interviewer. Confidence Is the key to fast approval. She explained her
topic on a practical way thats why it was easy to understand.
Our 2nd speaker was Sir Marc Gulle. He's only 21 years old and yet,
already has his own business. Hes really an inspiration to our generation. 1st
of, he taught us how to be a good leader. He told us stories until we come up
with real meaning of leadership and that is to always have initiative and a
one great leader would have its legacy in the future. Second topic was the
concept of finance. he presented us different tables showing computations of
the following: the curve concept build financial foundation investments
emergency funds eliminate debts life insurance long term care he gave us
this formula, 72 / % = no of years money will double to at least know the
basic concept of investing money. In his closing remarks, he showed us
videos of all of his achievements and he was excellent. Hes now traveling
the world at a very young age. This only means that no one can stop us from
dreaming.
Overall, the seminar was great. We never get bored because of games
and intermission numbers.there was free mini cupcakes too by Maybank. Two
thumbs up to all organizers, presidents and professors who made the
seminar possible.
