SHALE STABLIZERS
INTRODUCTION
Shale Stabilizers are polymer that stabilizes reactive clays and shale by inhibiting the uptake of
water and thereby mitigating their swelling or dispersion tendencies. Shale stabilizer can also
flocculate any dispersed clays or colloidal particles and aid their removal by solids control
equipment.

DEFLOCCULANTS
INTRODUCTION
Deflocculants are highly concentrated additive engineered to reduce water based drilling
fluid viscosity, assist in settling solids, and helps to create thin less permeable filter cake.
They offer immediate thinning action and reduces gel strength more than traditional
thinners.
HIGHLIGHTS
Helps in reducing the viscosity or gel strength of the water based drilling fluid by
absorbing on the aggregated clay particles and dispersing them.
Cristol DEFLOC RTL prevents high temperature flocculation and is stable at
temperatures exceeding 149C (300F). It functions synergistically when combined
with lignosulphonate deflocculants. It is moderately tolerant to calcium and alkali metal
salts.
CRISTOL DEFLOC RTL can also be used to prevent viscosity humps during breakover of
nondispersed systems and as gel preventers in lowcalcium and KCl systems up to
149C(300F).
DEFLOCCULANTS
HIGHLIGHTS
CRISTOL DEFLOC HTL is highly stable in excess of temperature around 177C
(350F). It is recommended in calcium and alkali metal salt environments.
CRISTOL DEFLOC HTL concentrated slug when added and circulated will help
remove wall cake prior to completion, stimulation or cementing. It also acts as
a gel preventer and will help to control fluid loss in most mud systems at
temperatures up to 204C (400F).

INTRODUCTION
These additives are surface active products and generates stable micro bubbles in water
based systems to develop specific gravity as low as below 0.8 .
HIGHLIGHTS
Recommended for drilling low fracture gradient / depleted formations.
Helps to develop subhydrostatic drilling fluid (sp.gr < 0.8 ) through formation of stable
micro bubbles.
CRISTOL FOAMER 25 gives good result up-to 90 deg. C while CRISTOL WBF
performs well up-to 110 deg C.
Helps to arrest surface seepage losses during drilling of well.
INTRODUCTION
This additive is a surface active product and generates stable micro bubbles in presence of
air/nitrogen to develop low specific gravity cement slurry for use in low fracture gradient
formations.
CRISTOL PRODUCTS AND THEIR GRADES
CRISTOL IE-AC
HIGHLIGHTS
Used in high Calcium ion environment
Product CRISTOL IE AC has been field tested in India to develop low density cement
slurry .
Minimum sp.gr. achieved was 1.25 to 1.35 range in one of the wells in India.
The cement slurry develops good early strength of 300 350 psi in 8 to 10 hrs.

DEMULSIFIER CONCENTRATES
INTRODUCTION
Demulsification of water from water -oil emulsions and removal of the water economically
meeting the technical requirements of the oil for further processing is a very critical operation.
Demulsifiers tend to act on the emulsion stability resulting coalescence of the water droplets
& dropping of the water.

ASPHALTENE DISPERSANTS
INTRODUCTION
The asphaltenes in nature are stabilized by resins and maintained in the oil due to this
stabilization. Asphaltene dispersants do not allow the asphaltene particles to form bigger size
molecules and deposit on the walls of pipeline. It is based on polymeric technology with
multiple anchoring groups and has chains that are compatible with the crude oil.
H2S SCAVENGER
INTRODUCTION
During oil and gas operations, hydrogen sulphide can be found as a component of formation
gases, dissolved in water, hydrocarbons, or even liquid sulphur.15 Thermal degradation of
organic materials and sulphate reducing bacteria (SRB) can create hydrogen sulphide along
with other gases.
Hydrogen Sulphide mainly cause corrosion problems to drill strings, transport pipes, storage
tanks etc . Hydrogen Sulphide also causes sulphide stress cracking , hydrogen embrittlement
and pitting corrosion in oil and gas operations.
CRISTOL PRODUCTS AND THEIR CHEMISTRY
