CLOUD POINT GLYCOLS/ SHALE INHIBITOR/ POLYOLS

INTRODUCTION
A glycol that is soluble at low temperatures but starts to form micelles (molecular
agglomerates), thus becoming cloudy, as the temperature is raised to a certain temperature
as the glycol clouds out at that temperature. These droplets can plug small pore spaces in the
formation providing shale inhibition.

SHALE STABLIZERS
INTRODUCTION
Shale Stabilizers are polymer that stabilizes reactive clays and shale by inhibiting the uptake of
water and thereby mitigating their swelling or dispersion tendencies. Shale stabilizer can also
flocculate any dispersed clays or colloidal particles and aid their removal by solids control
equipment.

DEFLOCCULANTS

INTRODUCTION
Deflocculants are highly concentrated additive engineered to reduce water based drilling
fluid viscosity, assist in settling solids, and helps to create thin less permeable filter cake.
They offer immediate thinning action and reduces gel strength more than traditional
thinners.

CRISTOL PRODUCTS AND THEIR GRADES

CRISTOL DEFLOC RTL Anionic Polyacrylate.
CRISTOL DEFLOC HTL Anionic Polyacrylate.

INSTALLED CAPACITY(Polymers): 20000 MT Per Annum

HIGHLIGHTS
Helps in reducing the viscosity or gel strength of the water based drilling fluid by
absorbing on the aggregated clay particles and dispersing them.
Cristol DEFLOC RTL prevents high temperature flocculation and is stable at
temperatures exceeding 149C (300F). It functions synergistically when combined
with lignosulphonate deflocculants. It is moderately tolerant to calcium and alkali metal
salts.
CRISTOL DEFLOC RTL can also be used to prevent viscosity humps during breakover of
nondispersed systems and as gel preventers in lowcalcium and KCl systems up to
149C(300F).

DEFLOCCULANTS

HIGHLIGHTS
CRISTOL DEFLOC HTL is highly stable in excess of temperature around 177C
(350F). It is recommended in calcium and alkali metal salt environments.
CRISTOL DEFLOC HTL concentrated slug when added and circulated will help
remove wall cake prior to completion, stimulation or cementing. It also acts as
a gel preventer and will help to control fluid loss in most mud systems at
temperatures up to 204C (400F).

EXTREME PRESSURE LUBRICANTS

INTRODUCTION
Extreme pressure lubricants are products with a role to decrease wear of the parts of the
rotating drill-string, bit rollers and casing exposed to high pressures, temperatures in metal to
metal friction. Especially used in directional and crooked holes, deeper holes, packed
holes, where frictional forces tend to be relatively high.

DEMULSIFIER CONCENTRATES
INTRODUCTION
Demulsification of water from water -oil emulsions and removal of the water economically
meeting the technical requirements of the oil for further processing is a very critical operation.
Demulsifiers tend to act on the emulsion stability resulting coalescence of the water droplets
& dropping of the water.

PARAFFIN / WAX DISPERSANTS

INTRODUCTION
These additives are liquid, organic surface active chemicals for use in crude oil to control the
deposition of paraffin. The oil soluble and water dispersible formulation is effective in
removing and preventing paraffin buildup in production equipments.
CRISTOL PRODUCTS AND THEIR CHEMISTRY
CRISTOL PRODUCT
CRISTOL PD 50
CRISTOL PD 65

CHEMISTRY
Proprietary Blend of Surfactants

INSTALLED CAPACITY(Surfactants): 18000 MT Per Annum.

HIGHLIGHTS
Helps reduce viscosity of crude oil. Through avoidance of paraffin separation in pipeline
it increases the production and storage capacity.
Keeps production systems clean & flowing, lowers maintenance costs.
Has synergistic effect on pour point and viscosity of crude oil when combined with
CRISTOL PPD EX Series .

ASPHALTENE DISPERSANTS
INTRODUCTION
The asphaltenes in nature are stabilized by resins and maintained in the oil due to this
stabilization. Asphaltene dispersants do not allow the asphaltene particles to form bigger size
molecules and deposit on the walls of pipeline. It is based on polymeric technology with
multiple anchoring groups and has chains that are compatible with the crude oil.

CRISTOL PRODUCTS AND THEIR CHEMISTRY

CRISTOL AD 1196 - Polymeric Surfactant .
INSTALLED CAPACITY(Surfactant): 18000 MT Per Annum.
HIGHLIGHTS
Enhances asphaltene stabilization in crude oils
Reduces viscosity of high asphaltene containing crude during pipeline transformation
In field situation, CRISTOLAD 1196 has proven to work exceedingly well on highly
viscous (Viscosity= 50770 cps @10 sec1 shear rate at 30C) moderately high asphaltene
content (10 11%) crude oil having a Pour point of 9 12C, to flow easily at ambient
temperature when used in one of the western part of Indian Oilfields.

H2S SCAVENGER
INTRODUCTION
During oil and gas operations, hydrogen sulphide can be found as a component of formation
gases, dissolved in water, hydrocarbons, or even liquid sulphur.15 Thermal degradation of
organic materials and sulphate reducing bacteria (SRB) can create hydrogen sulphide along
with other gases.
Hydrogen Sulphide mainly cause corrosion problems to drill strings, transport pipes, storage
tanks etc . Hydrogen Sulphide also causes sulphide stress cracking , hydrogen embrittlement
and pitting corrosion in oil and gas operations.
