This British Standard has been prepared under the authority of the Road
Engineering Standards Committee. The text of this standard is identical to that
of the published International Standard 3541 Earth moving machinery
Dimensions of fuel filler openings which was produced as a result of international
discussions in which the UK took an active part.
For the purposes of this British Standard the text of ISO 3541 should be modified
as follows.
Terminology. The words British Standard should replace the words
International Standard wherever they occur.
A British Standard does not purport to include all the necessary provisions of a
contract. Users of British Standards are responsible for their correct application.

1 Scope and field of application


This International Standard lays down the dimensions of fuel filler openings and caps for earth-moving
machinery.

2 Terminology
The terminology relating to the parts of the fuel filler opening is as follows.

Fuel filler openings shall be of three nominal sizes: 50, 75 and 100 mm.

4.3 Connection of cap to fuel tank


The cap should be connected to the fuel tank by a chain or similar link.
