Transfer Guide for Penn State Harrisburg / Harrisburg Area Community College
Harrisburg Area Community College (HACC) and Penn State
Harrisburg (PSH) have established this transfer guide so that
students have a clear idea about the coursework that they should
complete in order to best transfer into a Bachelors Degree in
Electrical Engineering at Penn State Harrisburg. For a B.S. degree
in Electrical Engineering a minimum of 134 credits is required.
HACC students enrolled in the Dual Admission Program can
follow the degree requirements in effect at the time of dual
admission as long as the student has maintained continuous
enrollment at HACC. Information about the Dual Admission
Program is available from the Transfer Office at HACC (Cooper
#213).
Recommendations/Notes:
1. Students are encouraged to complete the HACC equivalent of
the Entrance-to-Major requirements: MATH 140 GQ(4), 141
GQ(4), PHYS 211 GN(4) and CHEM 110 GN(3), 111 GN(1).
2. Although not required for transfer, students who graduated from
high school in 2001 or later and have not completed the required
two high school world language (same language) units must
fulfill this high school requirement by completing one semester of
a college level world language. This class is considered a high
school world language requirement and also counts toward the
completion of a baccalaureate degree.
3. Students are strongly advised to complete 3 credits of United
States Cultures (US) and 3 credits of International Cultures (IL)
within their general education requirements. These courses are
listed within the General Education Table below.
Admission Requirements:
1. Before transferring, HACC students generally complete most of
their first two years of college. A minimum of 18 credits
attempted are required to be considered for transfer.
2. Students are required to have a minimum cumulative grade point
average of 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale). GPAs are recalculated to include all
