Rationale
Thepurposeofthiscourseistodeveloptheabilityofnonaccountantstouseaccountingandfinanceinformationto
increasetheeffectivenessoftheirdecisionmaking.Understanding,interpreting,analysingandusingaccountingand
financedatahasalwaysbeenessentialforbusinesssustainability,howevertheimpactsofglobalisationmakethe
learningofaccountingandfinancetoolsandconceptsanimperativeforallmanagerswhowanttocreatively
addressproblemsandfindrealworldsolutions.Thiscourseprovidesasolidbaseforsuchlearning.

Synopsis
Accountingandfinanceknowledgeiscrucialineffectivelymanagingorganisations.Thiscourseaimstoprovidean
understandingofaccountingandfinancetoolsandconceptsthatwouldgiveyouconfidenceinusingfinancial
informationwhenmakingdecisions,insearchingforfinancialinformationandinquestioningfinancialinformation
provided.Coveredwillbetheuseandinterpretationoffinancialreportsandbudgetstohelpplan,controland
evaluateintoday'sbusinessenvironment.Theexplorationoftheconsequentpoliticalandbehaviouraleffectsofthe
