Part 2 - Performance Upgrade
We improve the performance of the window
by installing the unique Ventrolla Perimeter
Sealing System (VPSS), which has been
independently tested to BS6375-1:2004,
providing improved energy efficiency, without
altering the appearance of the window.
• Grooves are routed out of the mid rail and
bottom rail
• Pile carriers and the correct sized
Weatherfin Pile are then installed, making
the seal an integral part of the window
• New Staff and Parting Beads that
incorporate the Weatherfin Pile complete
the seal
This process ensures all the gaps around
the sashes are filled, creating a fully
sealed window.

Weatherfin Pile
Our high performance Weatherfin Pile
becomes an integral part of the window,
installed in our unique parting bead between
the sashes, in the new staff beads around the
window and directly into the mid and bottom
rail of the sashes.
• Manufactured from multi-filament
polypropylene, which incorporates a fin that
stands 1.5mm proud of the pile
• Pile heights range from 3mm to 15mm, with
a width of 6.7mm, to suit all gaps
• Silicone treated to improve water-repellency
and is ultra violet stabilised
• Conforms to EN 290002, one of the most
demanding European Quality Standards
and meets all requirements of BS 7386:1990
• Tested to British Standards BS 6375:1-2004,
equivalent to 71mph winds

VR90 Epoxy Resin
Ventrolla has developed a unique Wood
Repair System, VR90, a two part epoxy resin
designed to impart the original strength to
tenon joints and to fill cavities in sills, which
it achieves through bonding with the
original timber.
The process:

sound timber
• VR90 WS stabiliser is applied to
provide anchorage
• VR90 filler is applied to fill gaps/joints and
moulded to match the window profile

Building, Liverpool
Ventrolla Lancashire was awarded the
contract to renovate the 630 windows of the
Port of Liverpool building, as part of a year
long project to restore the property to its
original glory.
The Grade II* listed building was built in the
early 1900s and makes up one-third of the
“Three Graces” based at Liverpool’s Pier Head,
a World Heritage site.
It was damaged during the Blitz in 1941 and is
currently undergoing major internal and
external restoration work by the owner,
Liverpool’s biggest commercial landlord
company, Downing.

Wolverhampton Grammar School, Wolverhampton

prestigious companies in Merseyside,

the largest project ever undertaken by

Wolverhampton
Ventrolla Staffs and Salop has successfully
restored a number of sash windows at a
nationally acclaimed grammar school
in Wolverhampton.
The Staffs and Salop office of the window
renovation specialist carried out work at
Wolverhampton Grammar School in the West
Midlands during the holidays in order to
reduce disruption.
Out of the 50 windows earmarked for
restoration, two were badly damaged and
needed completely overhauling, while the rest
required only minor repair work to the sashes
and sills.

Grammar School, said: “We received
outstanding service from Ventrolla. Two
members of their team completed the work in
just three weeks, which meant the classroom
was ready for use before the start of the new
school term.
The windows look as if they were brand new,
but still maintain their traditional Victorian
character, while the rooms are no longer cold
and draughty. We plan to get Ventrolla back
in next year to carry out some additional
window repairs.”
Wolverhampton Grammar School will shortly
be celebrating its 500th anniversary, while its
current premises on Compton Road date
back to 1875. With a strong reputation for
academic achievement and extra curricular
activities, the school has 650 pupils.
