It’s Summer-time at McKendree!

Welcome to Summer at
McKendree 2010!
God has many exciting things in
store for the fellowship at McKendree
UMC Nashville this summer!
One of the more exciting
elements is the chance to host and
be involved with a variety of missional
opportunities this summer:
We will be hosting junior high
and senior high students from all
over the country as they participate
in YouthWorks mission projects around
the city of Nashville. We have been
identified around the TN Conference
UMC as a church that exhibits radical
hospitality - let’s exercise this attribute
at the next level this summer! Please

We will also once again be
hosting The Bethlehem Center
for their summer programming in
2010. This year, the “Slammin’
Jammin’ City Camp” features an 8-
week camp for students grades 5-8
that will be stimulating, motivating,
and educational. We will be inviting
these students from June 7-July 30 to
the CLC at McKendree. Please visit

Vacation Bible School for kids
ages 3 - 6th grade will be
happening at McKendree every
Wednesday night from June 30-July

Our Thread Youth will be
meeting on Wednesday nights

Because of more important
funding and supply raising
needs in our area, we aren’t
going to hold a benefit concert
or fund raiser for a new stage
any time soon. We did,
however, want to get the word
out about this need in case
anyone might be willing to
donate funds or wood for the
cause.
We desire to increase the
usage of The Loft as soon as
possible. Also, the YouthWorks
missions groups staying at our
facility throughout the summer
will be using The Loft weekly for
worship services and events.

Sunshine Group News
The Sunshine Group will be going to 5 Chefs
Restaurant at the Garrett House in Portland,
TN for lunch on Tuesday, July 6, 2010. Please
meet at the Crieve Hall Church of Christ
parking lot on Trousdale Road at 10:00.
Lunch will be on your own. Bus expense will
be just $5.00 per person. Please let Mary

A Letter from Room In The Inn
Great things are happening at Room In The
Inn! Our new downtown facility is nearing
completion, and we expect to move in on
July 1! Our expanded programs will serve a
larger number of people. The new building
features a dayroom that can
accommodate more than 200 individuals,
13 adult education classrooms, and 38
affordable housing units. Throughout the
summer, we will update our volunteers and
friends about the move. Thank you for your
continuing support of Room In The Inn, and
please pray for us as we enter a new phase
in our ministry.
