Talentpool

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
ABOUT THE SERVICE
Talentpool is an innovative portal in India that is focused on connecting the indigenous
talents of India with the vast market that demands it. By virtue of this platform, the talents
will not merely be connected to the suitable clients, but would also be able to promote their
art or talent through Talentpools multichannel platform, which consists of the Portal, Blog,
Facebook page, Twitter Page & YouTube Channel.

STRATEGIC DIRECTION
The objective of the company is to go through a gradual growth, achieve breakeven in 2 years
and scale up to different locations after 3 years.

MARKET
From the talents vantage point, there is a huge market of untapped talent, struggling in the
nooks and corners of India unaware of a platform that could help them connect to the talentseekers (industry) and eventually exhibit their talent to the whole world.
Form the talent-seekers (industry) vantage point there has been a rise in the demand for
indigenous talents and a lot of event management companies as well as private-party/events
hosts have expressed their interest in such indigenous talents, welcoming their art or talent to
be displayed in their platform.

FINANCE

MANAGEMENT
In the initial days the founders will be responsible for the business. The co-founders, Prateek
Suting & Vishal Manikandan will be responsible for Sales & Marketing. Sayali Pradhan will
be responsible for Finance and Prasith Ashok will be responsible for Operations.

EXIT STRATEGY
In case there are issues with the business and we are left with no other options but to exit,
then assuming that we have developed a huge database of talents, and the industries seeking
them, we could probably sell off the company to an event management company or to a
government organization that looks into the upliftment and promotion of talents.

1 BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE

1.1 INTRO
India is a diverse nation with people from different cultures and trades. The lions share of the
Indian population pie consists of people living in the rural or semi-urban areas. A huge
number of people coming from these not-so-popular parts of India, or from the rural areas,
contain in them multifarious form of talents, but of which most of India isnt aware. Man a
times, the talents of these people are smothered and fades away to nothingness just because
there is no one to appreciate or reward them for their talents. In the struggle to earn and
generate money, they tend to shift their focus from their valuable talent to some mundane job
which they are not interested in, but which is their last resort of income generation. Much of
Indias culture is also embedded in the talents of these indigenous people. And with the
extinguishing of their talent, the culture of India is also endangered.
Various talents can be, but not limited to:

Handicrafts
Traditional dance, Folk dance
Other dancing talents
Painters & Artists
Various tribal arts
Traditional music, folk music
Traditional Event management skills
Cooking skills, pure Indian cuisines
Traditional martial arts, fighting skill (Akhadas)
Athletes, sports players
Small business holders

Benefits of the system

Livelihood opportunities to the rural people

Availability of platform

Income generation opportunity

National and international visibility

Showcase talent

Support to small industries in the villages

1.2 CURRENT CONDITION

Problems with the existing system:

There is lack of information or information asymmetry.

Complex govt. bureaucracy, poor management, corruption.

The main problem is the lack of visibility of the rural talents and culture to the outer
world.

Lack of income to sustain the family.

Youth of villages moving out in search of livelihood (leaving behind the traditional family
culture)

1.3 THE CONCEPT

The working of the Talentpool is as depicted below:

1. First of all, we will build a portal, which could be accessed through a mobile app as
well. This portal will have separate registration slots for the Talents as well as the
Clients.
2. To operate as a multi-channel platform, we will also engage in other platforms like
Facebook, Twitter, Blogs and YouTube Channel, for better visibility and reach.
3. Local scouts will be assigned in different cities. These scouts will update us with the
database of indigenous talents in and around the city where they reside.
4. The Business Development Team will generate a database of potential large and small
scale clients who would be interested in availing the services of these indigenous
talents.
5. The primary revenue stream for Talentpool would be 12% commission of what the
talents are paid. Secondary revenue stream would promotional/ad-space for the
commercial clients in the Talentpool portal.

2 OBJECTIVE
Every aspect of this service will aim to increase the cash flow, but also to stand out as potent
channel that strives to exhibit the talents of the untapped to the outer world. Our principals
will take the necessary steps to utilize every resource to ensure that these untapped talents get
the right platform where they are well appreciated, acknowledged and rewarded.
2.1OVERALL OBJECTIVE

To provide recognition to the talents.

To pave a way for them for employment opportunities
To ensure benefits to its stakeholder in a profitable and sustainable way.
To avoid exploitation of the talents by the middlemen

2.2 SPECIFIC OBJECTIVE

To attain a strong talent database and achieve break even within the second year.
After 3 years of operation, we will expand to the other regions of India and also think
of diversification.
