4. Which one of the equations below would correctly model the number of zombies each
day if you start with 5 zombies? Explain how and why you chose the equation you did by
showing your work. [HINT: Use the methods we went over at the end of last chapter.]
5. If instead, 12 zombies were in the sleeper cell initially and had the ability to runso they
can infect 6 people per day.
a. Write an equation to model this pattern.
b. How long would it take the zombies to take over the world now [6,975,000,000
people]?
PART 2
Within 3 days of the initial attacks being reported, a group of scientists
quickly began working to find an antidote for Zombie-Zoid. Within a few
short weeks, they were successful. Unfortunately, they are only able to
administer their antidote to 15% of the zombie population each day. Make a
table showing how many zombies were cured after 10 rounds of
administering the antidote [10 days] (assume no new zombies are created
while administering the antidote).

8. What type of function does this data represent [linear, quadratic, or exponential]?
9. Write an equation to model the pattern in the data. [Show your work please.]
10. At this rate, how long will it take the scientists to completely turn all zombies back into
humans? Can this ever really happen? Why or why not?
11. What similarities and differences do you notice in the equations developed for both the
initial attack and the antidote phases?
12. What does each variable and number represent in both of the equations?
