Kids Eat Smart Breakfast Program

Our Breakfast Program is scheduled to begin on
Wednesday, September 14th, 2016. Community
Support has made our program a success over the
past 6 years. If you are interested in volunteering, or
know of another community member who is
interested in volunteering, please contact the school
at 469-2265.

Home/School Communication
Communication between home and school is very
important. Therefore information is provided through
a variety of ways. On a daily basis student school
bags need to be checked for newsletters and
messages in student agendas. In addition,
information is provided through the Catalina
Elementary Synervoice telephone message system.
Parents are also encouraged to provide their email
address to the school if they would like to receive
correspondence through email. Your email address
can be forwarded to KimberlyLodge@nlesd,ca

Professional Development
Parking When Picking Up/Dropping Off Students
School will be closed for students on October 19th,
2016. Staff members will be attending Professional
Development sessions on this day.

It is important for parents to leave enough space for

the buses to safely go around the school when they
are picking up/dropping off students. We ask that
you stop at the front of the school and refrain from

double parking!

Bus Stop Changes

Due to safety reasons students are permitted to
use their own regular bus stop plus one other
designated stop. The school must be notified if
students will be using a second designated bus
stop.

Canteen Services

Volunteers/Code of Conduct

Beginning Tuesday, September 13st we will be

offering some canteen items for students to
purchase for recess if they wish. Below is the list of
items currently available for your child to purchase.
The list is also available on the Catalina Elementary
School website at
www.catalinaelementary.weebly.com.

Many times when parents volunteer at the school,

a Code of Conduct is required. The
Newfoundland and Labrador English School
District requires that a Code of Conduct be
updated on a yearly basis. If you are interested in
volunteering to travel with students, listen to
students read, etc. please contact the school to
apply for a Code of Conduct. Codes of Conduct
are free for school volunteers!
