Application notes
The IP controller TRBOnet Swift Agent A002.M1 is a hardware device which enables
TRBOnet RadioServer to connect to MOTOTRBO control stations remotely over the
Internet. The IP controller is used as a part of the TRBOnet solutions to organize dispatch centers for remote control of Radio networks (figure 1).
The IP controller transfers voice and data communications between radio subscribers
and TRBOnet Radio Server via Internet.
Radios are operated via UDP/IP protocols. Commutation TRBOnet Swift Agent A002.M1
and Radio depends on radio model.

Data transfer and system organization


Remote control system includes:

Option Board TRBOnet Swift Transfer ST001.M1 installed in Motorola DM 3***


Radio;
IP controller TRBOnet Swift Agent A002.M1.

Communication between Radio connected to the IP controller and TRBOnet Radio


Server is provided by including remote control system in the local IP network.
Communication channel provides voice and data transfer over UDP protocol.

*Remote control system functioning is limited by jitter. If jitter value is more than 60 ms,
packet delays or packet losses are possible.
Note: Customer should reserve foreground channel for the gateway in the local network.

Functional description
IP controller TRBOnet Swift Agent A002.M1 is provided as the individual unit (black
metal case).
Four LED indicators for device's functional parts actions monitoring are on the TRBOnet
Swift Agent A002.M1 front panel:

Installation and Start up


Note: Read the safety instruction sheet before installation.
1. Unpack TRBOnet Swift Agent A002.M1 (3) and Installation kit (1);
2. Get Motorola DM 3*** (2) ready:

3. Install the puller into the groove between Radio front panel and enclosure (Figure 5);

4. Push the puller and input it under the front panel to unlock the fastening parts;
5. Pull off the front panel according to figure 6;

6. Option Board TRBOnet Swift Transfer ST001.M1 module building:

Wrap the flat cable to match its crease on the stiffening element border according
to Figure 8:

Note: Option Board ST001.M1 antenna must be installed vertically according to Figure 9

Install Option Board ST001.M1 on the Radio rack. Fix 4 screws with screwdriver
T6 TORX untill the torque 0,17 H according to Figure 9;

Connect the flat cable to Option Board. Match the 40-pin connector counterparts
according to Figure 10;
Press the suffering element to flat cable to put the connector halves in the grooves.
Fix the flat cable side in 14-pin jack on the Option Board installed in the Radio
according to Figure 10;

Press Antenna's cable to the Radio's body and install the front panel of Motorola
DM 3*** in back order of Figures 5,6 (Antenna must be under the plastic front
panel).

Note: Provide Antenna's isolation (the best way is isolation using sticky tape). Cut off 2
pirces of sticky tape. Fixe the first between Radio's body and Antenna. Fix the second
piece between top of the plastic front panel and Antenna.
7. Fix Antenna in the TRBOnet Swift Agent A002.M1 ANT connector;
8. Connect TRBOnet Swift Agent A002.M1 to the power supply according to Device's
technical specification (chapter 3, Technical specification)
Note: Motorola DP power adapter is not provided!
The device is ready for programming.

TRBOnet Swift Agent A002.M1 programming


Neocom software offers TRBOnet Swift Manager solution to program TRBOnet Swift
Agent A002.M1.
Note: For programming TRBOnet Swift Agent A002.M1 use LAN cable (patch cord)!

Note: Patch cord is provided!


Connect TRBOnet Swift Agent A002.M1 Patch cord to your PC;
Check TRBOnet Swift Agent A002.M1 and PC power connection;
Switch on TRBOnet Swift Agent A002.M1 and PC.

Select Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center > Local Area Connection:

Select Properties:

Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4):

Select Properties:

Enter the following parameters:


IP address: 192.168.0.100 (Default);
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Click Ok

Note: Option Board TRBOnet Swift Transfer ST001.M1 installed in the Motorola DM 3***
Radio can be programmed over USB cable connected to TRBOnet Swift Agent A001.M1
external devices' jacks only.

Note: Motorola DM 3*** and USB cable are not provided!


Connect USB cable to PC and TRBOnet Swift Agent external devices' jacks;
Check the PCand TRBOnet Swift Agent A002.M1 power connection.
Note: Use MOTOTRBO CPS for programming Motorola DM 3***.

TRBOnet Swift Manager Main Window


Figure represents how TRBOnet Swift Manager window appears when it is started for
the first time:

The following items are represented in the Main Window:

File
Open file
Select File > Open to open the Configuration File.

Select configuration File and click Open

The Device Information window appears:

For more information see chapter Device Information.


Save file
Select File > Save to save the TRBOnet Swift Agent A002.M1 configuration file.
Select File > Save as to save the file in the selected folder:

Select folder and click Save.


Exit
Select File > Exit to exit the software.

Device > Read


Select Device > Read to read the Device Information:

Select connection mode (USB/LAN)


Available devices window appears:

Select Device > Update to update the list of available devices:

Click
appears:

button to select the device using IP address. The following window

Enter IP address and click OK. Click Cancel for canceling.


Select the device in the list and click OK.

Select Swift Agent in the Navigation Area to see the Device Information:

The following data appears in the window:

ISM tranceiver settings


Select ISM tranceiver settings in the Navigation Area to see the settings:

Enter the folowing parameters:

Air data rate. Select in the Dropdown list (1 Mbps and 2 Mbps values are available);
RF channel. Select in the Dropdown list (from 0 to 125 values are available);
RF power. Select in the Dropdown list (from 0 to 250 values are available);
Receiver LNA gain. Select in the Dropdown list (High/Low values are available);

Note: Set the same values for Air data rate and RF channel for Option Board TRBOnet
Swift Transfer.ST001.M1 installed in Motorola DM 3*** and TRBOnet Swift Agent
A002.M1 communication.
Note: Set different RF channels for uninterrumpted operation of the devices installed
inside the same building:

Devices' RF channels should range in 2 values in case 1 Mbps Air data rate value;
Devices' RF channels should range in 4 values in case 2 Mbps Air data rate value;

Network settings
Select Network settings in the Navigation Area to see the settings:

Select following parameters:

Network name. Enter network name in the field;


Physical address. Enter Physical address in the field;
Check the box Obtain an IP address automatically if required;
Check the box Use the following IP address to enter It manually:
A. Enter IP address in the field;
B. Select Subnet mask;
C. Enter Default gateway.

Note: Unique physical address is necessary if you have more than one IPcontroller in
your network!

RS 232 settings
Select RS 232 settings in the Navigation Area to see the settings:

Select following parameters:


l Bit rate (bit/s). Select in the Dropdown List (available values are from 110 to
115200 bit/s);
l Data bits. Available values are 5, 6, 7, 8;
l Parity. Select in the Dropdown List;
l Stop bits. Select in the Dropdozn List (available values are 1, 1,5, 2);
l RXtomeout period (bit slots). Select in the Dropdown List (available values are
16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024);
l TX Guard interval (bit slots). Select in the Dropdown List. Available values are 0
(blocked), 16, 32, 64, 128, 255;
l Row control. Select in the Dropdown List. Available values are None, RTS, CTS.

Device > Write


Select Device > Write to write the Device:

Available devices window appears:

Select Device > Update to update the list of available devices:

Click

Select the device in the list and click OK.

Select Device > Update to update the list of available devices:

Select connection mode (USB/LAN).

Select the device in the list and click OK.

View
Select View to manage TRBOnet Swift Manager interface.
Check the View Items for displaying (Toolbar, Status bar). Selected Items will be displayed in the console:

Tools
Select TRBOnet Swift Manager language in the Tools menu.
Select Tools > Language to set the language:

English and Russian languages are available.


Note: Restart the application to save the settings.

Window
User can set Windows' parameters in the Window menu.
Select Window to mange the Window' parameters:

Select Windows' displaying mode.


Available modes are:
Cascade;
Tile Vertically;
l Tile Horizontally;
l Close all.
Active Windows are in the Status Bar.

Help
Select Help > About to see more information about the software:

The following window appears:

Click OK to close the window.

Connect the Antenna's connector to the Radio. Connect grounding and RJ45 connector
to TRBOnet Swift Agent A002.M1. Install TRBOnet Swift Agent A002.M1 and Motorola
DM 3*** to the proper location.
Do the system's functional testing.
Note: IP controller TRBOnet Swift Agent A002.M1 and Motorola DM 3*** Radio can be
spaced by a distance about 10 meters inside the same building.
