NON-ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES
Are the potable liquids or drinks which have either no ethyl alcohol
percentage or less than 0.5% by volume.
Types of non- alcoholic beverages
Water
Water is the worlds most consumed drink however,
97% of water on Earth is non-drinkable salt water.

Fresh water is found in rivers, lakes, wetlands,


groundwater, and frozen glaciers.
Less than 1% of the Earths fresh water supplies
are accessible through surface water and
underground sources which are cost effective to
retrieve.
In western cultures, water is often drunk cold. In
the Chinese culture, it is typically drunk hot.

Juice
Fruite juice is a natural product that contains few or
no additives.
Citrus products such as orange juice and
tangerine juice are familiar breakfast drinks, while
grapefruit juice, pineapple, apple, grape, lime, and
lemon juice are also common.
Coconut water is a highly nutritious and refreshing
juice.
Raspberry, blackberry and currants are popular
juices drinks but the percentage of water also

determines their nutritive value. Grape juice


allowed to ferment produces wine.

Milk or dairy- based beverages

Milk provides essential nutrients and is an


important source of dietary energy, highquality proteins and fats.

Milk can make a significant contribution to the


required nutrient intakes for calcium,
magnesium, selenium, riboflavin, vitamin B12
and pantothenic acid.

Soft drinks
Are the drinks that typically contains
carbonated water, a sweetener, and a natural
or artificial flavoring.

The sweetener may be sugar, high-fructose


corn syrup, fruit juice, sugar substitutes (in the
case of diet drinks), or some combination of
these.
Soft drinks may also contain caffeine,
colorings, preservatives, and other ingredients.
Soft drinks may be served chilled, over ice
cubes or at room temperature

Coffee

Is a brewed beverage prepared from the


roasted seeds of several species of an
evergreen shrub of the genus Coffea.
The two most common sources of coffee beans
are the highly regarded Coffea arabica, and the
"robusta" form of the hardier Coffea canephora.

Tea
The second most consumed drink in the world
is produced from infusing dried leaves of the
camellia sinensis shrub, in boiling water.

There are many ways in which tea is prepared


for consumption: lemon or milk and sugar are
among the most common additives worldwide.

Chinese yellow and green tea is steamed,


roasted and dried; Oolong tea is semifermented and appears green-black and black
teas are fully fermented.
