NEW TIMES,
NEW INDUSTRIES
LIMITLESS OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE NEXT
GEN IN FRANCHISING

e are in an entrepreneurial economy. The question

that confronts anybody who is thinking of starting
a new business or company is, how does one find
the opportunity thats right for you? There are many sources
for new venture opportunities for individuals. Clearly, when
you see inefficiency in the market and you have an idea of
how to correct that inefficiency and you have the resources
and capability or at least the ability to bring together the
resources and capability needed to correct that inefficiency
that could be a very interesting business idea. In addition,
if you see a product or service that is being consumed in one
market, that product is not available in your market, you
could perhaps import that product or service, and start that
business in your home country.
Indias 25+ youth is the embodiment of the Startup World,
more fearless than ever before in its earlier generation, but
also with a natural in-built sense to take calculated risks.
The business landscape is changing very fast. Notable would
be e-franchising; hyper-local trade, which are still sinking
in but would be the hottest franchise opportunities in the
coming years. The current franchise landscape is competitive
but integration and collaboration of traditional businesses
with new ideas can add value to thousands of undiscovered
business propositions. This calls for brands to innovate and
drive their brands to previously unchartered territories. India
had been so hyped by modern retail in the last decade that
some golden franchise industries much popular in the West
did not get there due regard in India so far. Today, both malls
and tech businesses are being created around them, but
we need more organised brands and franchisees to enable
these service businesses. The food and beverages industry,
wellness and fitness sector will be the next sunshine brick
and mortar industries of India with a growth that would
canvass to 300 per cent or more in the next two years.
