Introduction

Philosophers and General people have come up with many theories, in an attempt to explain
the origins of the earth. They have tried to come up with models which try to explain how
the earth came into being, and its future. One of the popularly known theory is the Big Bang
theory, which presupposes that for the universe to originate ,all matter that we know was
contained in a tiny speck which went on to explode. The theory continues to develop and
evolve from the time it was conceptualized. Scientists have taken part in contribution to this.
For a long time now people have upheld various ideas of what the universe is like, from the
Aristotelian to the Copernican universe among other ideas. Soon after the inventions of
physics by Isaac Newton, philosophers began to think that there was a time when planets
and perhaps stars did not exist but only a cloud of matter. Shortly after that it is believed
that gravity pulled the matter into clumps, forming stars and planets. This sounds absurd of
course, at least in my opinion because it is not possible that the universe and its complexity
were as a result of a coincidental mistake .The big bang theory has some advantages and
disadvantages as well, however he aim of this research paper is to examine the weaknesses
of the Big bang theory and its flaws.

The theory does not indicate the very thing which brought the universe into existence, it
explains the early stages of development of the universe. The Big bang theory uses some
ideologies which state that, space and matter were initially part of an infinite like small point
called the Singularity. The theory says does not indicate how the singularity came into being.
It is thought to have been caused by a random event. Using the quantum theory some say
that things appeared from nothing and then disappear back into nothing. And since no one
has seen any of that happen, it is difficult to make logical sense out of that belief.
The big bang theory seems to have a horizon problem, it fails to explain why most of the
universe has similar temperatures. Although scientists have tried to use the cosmic inflation
hypothesis in explaining uniform temperatures, it still does not fully satisfy the problem. And
it is does not correspond with any physical field. The horizon problem proves different parts
of the universe have not been in contact with each other because of the vast distance
separating them. Even physical properties are the same in these regions. One interesting
thing though is that transfer of energy and information is possible at the speed of light.
The universe is thought to be flat, but upon observation, one may see that it can never be
this way. The inflationary hypothesis has been employed in attempts to support this idea.

Astronomy helps us to understand the universe we live in. A simple illustration of shadows
and sticks can simply show that the earth can never be flat. If a stick is placed on the floor
or ground, it produces a shadow. As time passes by, the shadow moves as well .Had it been
true that the world is indeed flat, then two sticks placed in different locations would be
expected to produce the same shadow. But they do not, because the earth is spherical not
flat. The existence of time zones also prove that the earth can never be flat. This is
especially so because different parts of the universe experience different weather, daylight
and night time and some countries are either ahead or behind time wise.

The theory contradict with the law of thermodynamics, which states that matter cannot be
created or destroyed. The theory addresses the evolution of the universe, instead of the
creation. It is claimed that it all began from nothing. At the moment it is apparent that no
one can fully explain the absolute prevalence of matter in the universe. Using human
understanding of the earth, the universe should have the same amount of both anti matter
and matter. Examining carefully the creation of the universe, one can see that laws of
science break down and they are not put into account. The bible has passages that talk
about God alone who can break or go against the laws of science and physics. This may
indicate that the Universe was as a result of creation by a higher being whom man has tried
to understand since the beginning of time.

The theory is a challenge to Christian faith it is unbiblical, because the origins of the
universe are attributed to a natural cause. This poses a challenge to the bible since creation
of the entire universe from natural event would suggest no need for a God. The big bang
theory also suggests that the earth may not have a special place and its inhabitants as well.
From a creationist point of view, God created the heavens and the earth and everything in it.
He made these beautiful for our enjoyment, but most importantly that his glory may be
shown throughout eternity. The big bang theory contradicts the bible where Gods power is
shown in the creation week and his love on the day of the Sabbath.

Conclusion There are many justifiable accusations to level at the Big Bang theory, such as its
reliance on falsifying factors, like dark matter. One thing seen is that the Big Bang theory is

not based on solid compelling facts. There is a substantial minority of atheistic, secular
scientists who do not accept it, either. Creationists do not accept the theory because it is
contradicts the bible. The theory ignores the possibility that the Earth may have a special
place, whereas the Gods word tells us that it does (Isaiah 45:12). Despite the heavens being
wonderfully designed, they were nevertheless created for the benefit of humankind (Genesis
1:14) and, most importantly for Gods glory (Psalm 19:1). The theory requires a lot of faith to
accept as compared to Genesis 1.it takes more to believe that the universe just came into
being accidentally. Hence the theory needs continual challenge
