Where is quality in our lives?

Factors contributing to quality of life

The term quality of life is a relatively


new concept that over time developed
and became more complex. It was first
appeared in the US in the 50s. It was
initially identified with the concept of
living standards, and included concepts
having to do with the consumer society:
the ownership of electrical appliances,
car and house. Free time, vacation and
leisure opportunities were added later.
In 1960 the term was extended to
include education, health and wellness,
economy and industrial development
(Fallowfield, 1990).

Physical activities
When it comes to physical activity, and even a little
bit counts

Some of the benefits of physical activity include


It reduces the chances for development of chronic diseases
such as heart disease, strokes, heart attacks, diabetes and
obesity.
It helps to "build" and maintain the muscles, bones and
joints.
It helps in weight management.
It gives a sense of pleasure and inspirational.
It reduces feelings of depression and anxiety.
It helps control blood pressure.
Gain confidence and trust in yourself.
Improve body balance and thus avoid situations that have a
number of times resulting in fractures.

How should we practice in order to have benefits to our


health?

The experts have estimated that an average of the


movement we do every day corresponds to about 5,000
steps. If we want to integrate physical activity into our
lives and have many benefits, we should do another
4,000 steps a day. ?? Physical activity plays an important
role in combating obesity and management of chronic
diseases such as cardiovascular, diabetes, high blood
pressure and high cholesterol.

Exercise or physical activity helps children build


strong body

In older adults -and particularly those suffering from


metabolic syndromo- physical activity improves strength
and mobility, which, in turn, reduces injuries from falls.

Types of physical activity that is highly effective


Aerobic activities.
Empowerment activities.;
Balance and stretching activities.
Exercise, we all know, certainly improves our physical
condition, but also our appearance. But what does this
mean? The impression we have is that exercise helps us to
loose weight, so we look and feel much better. But this is
not the reality. Exercise, although it contributes (especially
long term) to lose weight, and make other very important
for our health, develops our self esteem.

Disadvantanges of lack of exercise


The lack of physical activity and can cause completely
opposite effect. A survey showed that physical inactivity is
as dangerous as smoking. According to the study, lack of
exercise and activity causes 5.3 million. Deaths annually in
the world, and those who say smoking. As experts say,
physical activity is necessary for muscles, bones, heart and
other vital organs to function properly. But around the
world people tend to be exercised less and less, and spend
more and more time in front of their computer screen and
on television or at the wheel of their car.
Lack of exercise, poor posture and psychological stress are usual
situations where they are and operate city dwellers
