Assignment 1
Making Reading Cards
1. Access a copy of model reading cards from my website.
https://sites.google.com/site/vijuciefl/
2. Compare the cards for a. format, b. linguistic items taught, c. illustrations, and
d. level. Which one did you like most? Now choose a card to model yours on. Your
card could be a combination of different cards too.
3. When you submit your reading card, also submit a short write up describing the
following: 1. Level (and background) of the learners 2. Objective of each task in
your card (e.g., subskills, grammar point, phonological feature, etc.).
4. The cards should be made keeping the dimensions of the A4 size paper in mind.
5. Credit will be given for doing cards for pre-primary to the second standard. The
cards should be meant for students with not more than four years of English.

Assignment
1. Access a copy of sample reading cards from my previous posting in the group
2. Note the
a. format, b. linguistic items taught, c. illustrations, and d. level.
3. When you submit your reading card, also submit a short write up describing the following: i. Level
(and background) of the learners
ii. Objective of each task in your card (e.g., subskills, grammar point, phonological feature,
morphological feature, etc.).
4. The cards should be made keeping the dimensions of the A4 size paper in mind.
5. Follow the format of the sample card
6. Two sets of cards to be submitted
I. Morphology (student's and teacher's card); Pre, While and Post Activities (20 marks)
II. Phonology (student's and teacher's card); Pre, While and Post Activities (20 marks)
