Upgrade Procedure:

Connect your PC to the Ethernet management port of the IDC (for direct connection, use an
Ethernet crossover cable).
Note: Connecting to the system from a remote site is possible, but may not work due to Firewall
configurations.

Select the drawer (IDM) you want to upgrade first (left or right) and enter the MUX Serial
Number and the Max Bit Rate (Mbps), as they appear in your upgrade license request (see
options below). Then enter the License Key.
Note: The License Key is case-sensitive. Make sure no spaces are added after the key.

Click Update.
8.
Reboot the IDM and verify the max bit rate using CeraView.
9.
Restart the application if you want to upgrade the other drawer or another unit.
640P IDMs: 45 (for 28 T1s), 69 (for 32 E1s or 40 T1s), 116 (for 48 E1s), 155 (for 64 E1s or 64
T1s)
Upgrade Steps:

Obtain license file(s) from support@ceragon.com and store them on your PC.

Launch CeraView and download license files to the IDC (in the IDC file location).

Launch CeraView, and verify that you can select the requested bit rate and ACM adaptive mode.

TFTP (Trivial File Transfer Protocol) is used for software download. Its parameters should be
configured using CeraView.
a. Close all open sessions in CeraView.
b. Create a new folder in drive C called dwld (C:\dwld) and store all download files in the folder.
c. Select Start Programs CeraView CeraView Configuration. The CeraView
Configuration screen appears.
f.
In the TFTP Files Location field, browse to the folder path where the download files are located
(C:\dwld).
g. Leave the default settings in the TFTP Timeout and TFTP Retries fields (90 seconds and 4
respectively).
h. In the Use Internal TFTP Server field, select True.
i. Click Apply, and then Close.

a. Launch CeraView.
b. Select File Software Download.
The Software Download screen appears.
c. Verify that the File Location and the TFTP Server IP Address are displayed correctly.
Click Select in the IDC field to browse through the different IDC software versions and license
files (only files stored in the File Location with the corresponding file extensions will be available
for selection).
d. Download the license file(s) to the IDC.
e. Click Apply to start the download.
The download status will appear in the Download Log.
Note: You can tell which capacity license your IDM has based on the options displayed in CeraView's
Multi-Rate-Multi-Constellation window.
Note: You can tell if the IDM supports ACM adaptive mode by checking if it is displayed in
CeraView's Adaptive Code Modulation window.
