*ADDED updated:
Lockdown Procedures:
The purpose of a lockdown is to
secure the school and ensure the
safety of students, staff and visitors
during a critical incident. There are
various situations that will result in a
lockdown being ordered and it is
imperative that students and staff
understand the appropriate steps to
take. In an effort to minimize
confusion, this is a district wide
policy that will be used in all
schools.
Sometimes evacuating the building
and getting away from the threat
will be your best option. It is very
important for staff to know that they
have the discretion to make these
decisions with the full support of
school administration.
1. Any staff person who
witnesses an internal threat
should initiate a lockdown

through the phone intercom

system by dialing 4304 and
then entering 0.
2. You should announce, "This is
a Lockdown (Drill). There is
a threat in the _____ area.
Repeating. There is a threat
in the _____ area."
*In the event staff can not access the
intercom, contact the office ASAP so
a lockdown can be initiated*
