Stereotype

Scarface written by Maurice Coons(Armitage Trail) follows the story of Tony Guarino,
a small time gangster who becomes the head of a powerful criminal organization. After going to
fight in World War I Tony returns to his home and finds he has been declared dead. This allows
him assume a new identity and begin again. What follows in the life of Tony Guarino and his
criminal empire. The violence that the narrative portrays also portrays on violence against
women at that time. During the story is clear realize the oppression that woman were suffering at
that time and even suffer today.
On the first page of "Scarface" he describes the first female character as an object and
somewhat maligned way. When the author writes that people with a proper perspective would
have recognized her for the false and dangerous beacon of allure that she was,but to Tony she
was marvelous,something to worship and possess(page 2) he is saying that Tony wants her to be
his posses is the same ,for example,that he wants a car ,wants to posses. So After Tony get
money and a car they begin to meet together, but as she was with a powerful leader of the mafia,
they were hanging out hidden. The powerful gang leader had know that they were together and
he go to the place where they were meeting and will kill both. Tony kills him and stay with the
girl.

Tony Guarino go to World War 1 to stay way from detectives that want to get him. He
says to the girl that he loves her ,kissed her with all de passion that had made him risk his life to
get her(page 41) and will comeback and told her to wait for him. Tony is presumed dead by
newspapers. When he comeback Vyvyan(the girl) is with another man. She explains to Tony
about the newspaper said that he was dead. But he didn't care . And he didn't regret thought
Tony.
After Tony killed Vyvyan he go to a Lovos Gang e there he is Tony Camonte,because
he don't want that people recognize him. When Tony came into a leader of Lovo`s Gang he had a
henchmen Mike Rinaldo. Someday,Tony saw Rinaldo with a woman and he found that the
woman was your sister.After this Tony went to met Rinaldo and kill him in front of the girl and
he told her to shut up, to put the dress and get out of it(page 154). Tony Camonte was arrested,
was one month in jail and his trial was found not guilty. This reinforces the thesis that the woman
had not voice at that time. So her sister try to kill him(page 175) but she didn't have success.
Tony Camonte didn't regret his crimes against woman and he was not punished even
when the police got him. This shows that men have a support from society when practice a
violence against women. The book show this stereotype that society has about woman,they look
equal an object and is similar with what we have in society today.
