Tickets To Heaven
With Good Deeds ?
Mans biggest problem is
It separates us from God .

sin .

..your iniquities have made a separation

between you and your God, and your sins
have hidden His face from you .
Isaiah 59:2
The undeniable truth is that we have
inherited from our first human father
Adam, a sinful nature.
We are born with it . Behold, I was brought
forth in iniquity , and in sin did my mother
conceive me
Psalm 51:5
We see this clearly in every little child .
It demonstrates itself in stubbornness ,
selfishness and rebellion .
We see it in ourselves in the form of envy ,
pride, selfishness and lust.
The second fact about sin is that it is
directed toward God.
That is why Joseph said to the wife of
Potiphar How then can I do this great
wickedness and sin against God
Genesis 39: 9
David wrote the same thing in Psalm 51
Against you, you only, have I sinned and
done what is evil in Your sight.
Psalm 51:4

The third fact about sin is that it is universal .

There is no exception .

Failing to do this, even once, is punishable .

Adam disobeyed God. Abraham lied . Moses

killed an Egyptian .

Mans limitation
What can a limited man who sins against the
unlimited God do to win His acceptance ?!!

David committed adultery and killed a faithful

soldier in his own army .
The Bible is very clear in recording this.
All have turned aside ; together they have
become worthless ; no one does good , not
even one .
Romans 3:12
As such, we are all sinners by nature and our
sins are directed against God.
What then, is the solution ? Is it good deeds?

Those who promote the good deeds solution

to the problem of sin overlook 3 major
obstacles :
Mans Guilt
A person can not be acquitted from a crime of
murder because he is going to build a hospital
or an orphanage or give all his money to the
poor.
Mans responsibility
If man does every right thing in life , he still
doesnt deserve a reward.
If you dont drive through a red light , and you
stop your car at every stop sign all your life,
you shouldnt expect a reward from the police
department.
It is mans responsibility to do the right thing at
all times.

What kind of good deeds can man do to win

the greatest prize of enjoying eternity in
heaven ?
This is what the Bible says about our good
deeds :
..and all our righteous deeds are like a
polluted garment, We all fade like a leaf, and
our iniquities , like the wind , take us away.
Isaiah 6:64
If good deeds are not the solution , what is it
then ?
The key is in the results of sin.
This is what the Bible says about those results
:
For the wages of sin is death Romans 6:23
..the soul who sins shall die . Ezekiel 18:4
..for the day that you eat of it you shall surely
die
Genesis 2:17
So, it is clear that the sure result of sin is
death .

1. Spiritual death : which is the separation

from God who is the source of life.
2. Physical death : which is the separation of
body and soul .

3. Eternal death : which is being in

hell forever .

If this horrible result is caused by sin

,and man is helpless to do anything
about it ,what is then the solution to
this crisis ?

We see this in the alter that Isaac built

( Genesis 26:25 )
We see this also in the alter that Jacob built
in Shechem . ( Genesis 33:20)

Did God remain idle and didnt do

anything to save man who is the
master piece of His creation ?

We see this very clearly and in full details in

the book of Leviticus.

Did God abandon His purpose of

creating man and allowed the devils
plot to succeed ?!
Of course not.
God, in his wisdom , and even before
He created man, prepared a plan of
salvation for him.
It was a plan that fulfilled both Gods
justice and love.

All this was simply symbolic to the greatest

act of redemption that fills the pages of the
New Testament .
It was symbolic, simply because an
animal cannot redeem a human being.
The redeemer has to be , at least, equal
to all human beings throughout history
in order to redeem them .

It was a plan of redemption .

We can see many traces of that plan in
the Old Testament starting from
Genesis 3 when God made for Adam and
his wife garments of skins and clothed
them
Genesis 3:21
We see that in Gods acceptance of
Abels animal offering and not Cains
fruits offering ( Genesis 4:3-5 ).
We also see it in the alter that Noah
built after the flood . ( Genesis 8:20 )
We also see it in the alter that Abraham
built ( Genesis 12:7 )
We see this very clearly in the
