The Renaissance can be regarded as a turning point because of The Catholic Church
during that time, the many wars that led up to the Renaissance and the wars fought during this
time period, and the reestablishment of information.
During the renaissance many popes wished for their churches or areas of worship to be
beautiful and up to date with society in terms of agriculture. The popes and priests would hire
artists to do this work for them, when their work was done it helped create the base for
agriculture for this time period. With this as their base more people began working and trying
new ways to please the church which turned into new discoveries within the Renaissance. The
church also influenced countries on their cultures\religious beliefs. For instance, Spain created an
Inquisition to please and unify the Catholic Church during the Renaissance. All Muslims and
Jews were to be rid of from the country or else they would face execution. For this, this became
Spains cultural base for the future.
Wars over religious influence were not unknown for the duration of this time. These wars
helped lead to making the Renaissance a turning point because it influenced people to go trade
and create new weapons\discoveries that would help them win the wars that they fought were
worth fighting for. These wars pushed people to trade, which led to helping create wealth. With
this income of money towards the people and the country, more people started to want paintings
and buy more advanced items.
The Father of Humanism was also an influence to the making of the Renaissance a
turning point. This man is also known as Francesco Petrarch. This man swayed people to wonder
more about whats out there in the world and helped make people think more about human
characteristics, such as humanism. He believed that some texts refound would create a golden
age and help advance the world. With his help he aided the countries during the Renaissance to
perfect their cultures with humanism and to change their intellectual thought basis.

The Renaissance can be held to the extent that it was a turning point for Western
intellectual and cultural tradition. These reason include of the aid from The Father of
Humanism, to help persuade people to think more and want to change their intelligence basis.
The Catholic Church for pushing artists and countries to make moves based on church beliefs,
and for the wars that help create the Renaissance. They create more wealthy countries and made
trade an undergo.
