How to write a letter in MSword 2007

1. Open a new document in MSword 2007(create blank document)
2. Page layoutPage setupSizechoose A4(if your printing paper is A4)
3. Select the Normal (if you want more space between address lines) or No spacing (no extra
spacing between address lines) Style from the styles pane of the home tab.
4. HomeParagraphAlign text rightNow type the sender`s address & date.(go to new lines
as needed by pressing enter key)
5. After you finished with the sender`s address go to a new line by pressing the enter key.
6. HomeParagraphAlign text leftNow type recipients name & address.
7. After you finished with step 6, go to a new line & then type salutation.(e.g. Dear sir)
8. HomeParagraphAlign text CenterType the letter heading (if the letter is official) with
underlined bold text.
9. Go to a new line after the letter heading.
10. HomeParagraphAlign text left or Justify Type the basic content of the letter.
11. After you finished with step 10, go to a new line & then type the closing. (E.g. Thank you).
12. Go to a new line.
13. HomeParagraphAlign text leftType ―…………………….‖
14. Go to a new line; type sender’s name.

My Ambition in Life

Every Person a man or woman has one or the other ambition in life. It is always a good
thing to have an ambition in life. It is always a good thing to have an ambition in one`s life. A man or
woman without an ambition is really an unfortunate person, because his life is just a ship with out
rudder .it is at the mercy of winds and will be tossed hither and thither aimlessly. As it docs not have
any set destination, it will rich nowhere. Without any aim a person can achieve nothing in his life. It
inspires a person to achieve success in life. It gives him the incentive to work hard.
Of course, only having an ambition is not enough. A person should also work hard to
achieve his ambition. There is no doubt that if one makes vigorous efforts one is sure to achieve his
aim in life sooner or later. Without making any efforts man cannot realize anything in life. Then his
ambition will simply become an idle dream.
Different persons have different ambitions in their lives. It differs from man to man. Some
persons want to get wealth; others want to achieve fame still others want to do service to the mankind.
Some want to become doctors, while others want to become engineers. Some want to become
business men and others like to pursue a political career. Still others may like to become lawyers.
Many young boys and girls nowadays are attracted to the glamorous life of film stars and they want to
become actors and actresses. There are many persons want to go to the foreign lands, as they think
that life in foreign countries is just like a heaven.

Do the following

Go to each option of the margin control & apply them; observe the changes.
Go to each option of the Orientation control & apply them; observe the changes.
Go to each option of the Size control & apply them; observe the changes.
Select the first paragraph & Insert two columns using columns control; observe the
changes.
Now place the cursor in the third paragraph & Automatic hyphenate; observe the changes.
Then manual hyphenate .(place the cursor at the places shown in the dialog box)
Now insert the line Numbers continually using line numbers control.
Place the cursor at the start of the second paragraph and…

 Create a new blank document in msword 2007.
 Insert twenty pages to the document.
 Now section break (Option-next page) the document after each four page segment.
 Now go to section 1 give water mark “This Is a Section One Page” using custom water mark.
 Page color “red” ………follow the table given below,

 Copy –paste a fresh copy of My Ambition in Life in a new blank document
 Place the cursor in the second paragraph.
 Try all the controls in the paragraph pane by clicking the arrow heads. Please read each
tooltip before you click &, undo the changes before you go to a new control.

5. Page Layout tabArrange pane.

Insert a picture to the above created document (step 4).
 Try placing it within the text using text wrapping options.
 Use the position control and add each option.
