Writing essays in EFL environment

The thought of writing an essay in English as Foreign Language (EFL) usually

activates most of the cognitive - emotional sensors, almost all except the ones
needed to perform the necessary task. Do we ever ask ourselves why is it always
this way. How is that possible that we can trust our students more then they can
trust themselves. Why do we see the attempts of memorization in writing tasks
